22/08/2026: Last week I bought a citrus Basque cake, what a disappointment! The cream was practically nonexistent and the citrus marmalade was far too sweet. I thought I'd made the wrong choice. This morning I went back to the store to buy one with cream, as I remembered a very flavorful Basque cake, and there it was again, another disappointment: the cream was also practically nonexistent and very dense. It doesn't have the texture of the Basque cake from Pariès of yesteryear. What a shame!

13/09/2026: A fantastic experience! What a pleasure to find a true Italian chef on Île de Ré. With an Italian menu to complete the ambiance! We went for lunch with our son, and the dishes were so delicious that we had to return before the end of our vacation. Everything was perfect: the welcome, the service, the quality of the food and wines, and the chef's friendliness. And for those who complain about the prices, unfortunately, on Île de Ré, given the overhead costs, it's certainly impossible to do otherwise. Prices are high all over the island. And for Italian wine, buy it online; you'll certainly pay less, but you won't have the chef's advice or this wonderful setting to savor it with a good meal. A huge thank you again, Chef, to you and your team!

08/10/2026: We had lunch at this restaurant, somewhat by chance. We took advantage of a The Fork offer, and as a result, the value for money was excellent! It's worth trying, but it's a bit out of the way of the shops, so you have to make the trip! The food is excellent, and the waiter is efficient and attentive. We ate inside to avoid the smokers. Everything was very good: appetizers and main courses, and the desserts were a special touch—they're from Marrou: superb and delicious. A restaurant we'll definitely go back to.

Books, wines, and good food meet in an intimate, warm, and welcoming setting, with a unique atmosphere that invites you to linger and savor the moment. The idea of ​​being able to have a drink surrounded by books, photographs, and bottles of wine is wonderful: every corner offers something to discover. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming. We stopped for a truly delicious Pastis and enjoyed this little moment of Parisian relaxation. A special, authentic, and different place, where culture and the pleasures of the table coexist perfectly. Worth discovering and certainly memorable.
