12/04/2026: A very pleasant restaurant in a small village not far from the beautiful towns of the Brionnais region (Semur, Anzy-le-Duc, Charlieu). The owner is attentive and efficient, and the food is excellent at a very reasonable price. Thank you!

10/05/2026: The hot chocolate was very good, however, the pastries seemed a bit pricey. The waitress was also rather unpleasant, and it was difficult to get water.

17/05/2026: Exceptional setting with breathtaking sea views. Attentive and always smiling staff. Excellent dishes: I recommend the barbajuan with Swiss chard, the Wagyu beef tartare prepared tableside, and the red berry clafoutis to share, served with strawberry sorbet.

14/05/2026: This place is everything they say it is and more. The views, the food and the wine were amazing. The service is more than what you would expect, glasses never empty. Big shoutout to Joao for looking after us and making our meal so memorable!

22/06/2026: Yesterday, the longest day of 2026, I went to this restaurant for dinner with my wife and adult daughter. The welcome was fine. We were shown to a nice table inside. The menu board only offered two- or three-course set menus. When we inquired, the owner explained that we could order just an appetizer, just a main course, or also dessert. We opted for two appetizers and three main courses. We also ordered a large bottle of water and a rosé from the three available options, choosing the best value. We can't understand how this restaurant has received so many five-star ratings. The service was okay, and the wait was reasonable. The food deserves four stars; there's room for improvement. Now for the major drawback: payment is made at the bar with the owner. The first bill charged us for the full meal at €37 x 3. The second bill was €15 cheaper. When checking the bill, we only focused on the price of the food. It wasn't until we got back to our apartment that we looked at it again and realized he had deliberately charged us for the most expensive rosé. His trick didn't work with the food, but it did with the wine. To me, that's a rip-off. It's a real shame; that's how you lose customers. We certainly won't be visiting this restaurant again, even though we're still in Rennes for a few more days. Regards, Günter

19/06/2026: A charming little restaurant, bursting with flavor, with a warm welcome. The menu is revisited each season, and the prices reflect the quality of the food. They offer a selection of excellent wines, both white and red, offering a true journey through wine. The owner, a true epicurean, has a deep understanding of winemaking methods, geology, and the terroirs that make up his cellar. The menu, written on a chalkboard, is meticulously detailed, and as soon as you sit down, it whets your appetite. The presentation of the dishes is elegant and colorful, with new offerings each season. It evokes memories of yesteryear, flavors, and aromas reminiscent of our mothers' cooking. I highly recommend this restaurant to those who appreciate good, homemade ingredients.

04/06/2026: Le Bar à Iode has become one of our go-to spots in Paris. We have lunch there with friends at least twice a month, and the pleasure is always the same. The menu is intentionally simple, focused on beautiful seafood—fresh, flavorful, and prepared with precision, without any frills or fuss. It has everything we love: quality of the ingredients above all else. At lunchtime, the value for money is remarkable, with a starter and main course for €20 or a starter, main course, and dessert for €25. Special mention also goes to the wine list, which is particularly well-curated, with excellent selections at very reasonable prices, with bottles starting around €14. As for the atmosphere, the decor is simple, warm, and unpretentious. You immediately feel at ease. On sunny days, the small terrace is a real bonus and offers a very pleasant setting to enjoy lunch in the sun. Finally, it's impossible not to mention Valentine and Antoine, the delightful owners. Always smiling, attentive, and welcoming, they greatly contribute to making each visit a pleasant experience. An excellent place to share quality seafood with friends in an authentic and relaxed atmosphere. A restaurant I recommend without hesitation.

30/04/2026: Good, slightly dated hotel in the old center of Laon. The reception was particularly friendly, and the owners provided exceptionally nice assistance during the stay. I was allowed to store my bicycle in the hotel garage. The hotel is within walking distance of shops, cafes, restaurants, and the sights. Breakfast is extensive, with delicious jam.

28/04/2026: Excellent welcome at this old-fashioned but clean hotel, very well located in the venerable episcopal city. Everything is a bit crooked, but who cares... the welcome is friendly and the parking spaces are less than fifty meters away.
