19/04/2026: Stopped for dinner and an overnight stay. A very pleasant place. The couple is professional, very kind, and always smiling; we felt very comfortable. The homemade meal was perfect. Impeccable bedding. The breakfast was very generous. I highly recommend it.

13/04/2026: Excellent welcome, simple but very clean and quiet room. The owners are friendly and very attentive, the restaurant menu was very good, as was the breakfast, all at a reasonable price. Finally, a lovely outdoor setting and ample parking.

12/05/2026: First visit since the change of ownership, and what a disappointment it was. We were a table of nine, and the dishes we ordered were quite varied, but unfortunately, the quality (and especially the quantity!) didn't match the price. - The flank steaks (which were good, by the way) weighed no more than 100g and were served with about fifteen fries practically fighting each other on gigantic plates, without even a single lettuce leaf to try and hide the emptiness, all for nearly €18. - The cuttlefish was very good, no complaints there, but 5-6 strips of 2-3 cm is simply ridiculous for the price. - The spare ribs were very good and a generous portion. We didn't order dessert, given the enormous disappointment with the other dishes. We were regulars, and unfortunately, like all good things, it has come to an end.

27/04/2026: After trying the Tabagnon in Tassin this winter, we discovered the one in Vaugneray this weekend and enjoyed a pleasant time in a lovely setting. The terrace (inner courtyard) was recently renovated. The dishes were delicious and generous. The prices are reasonable. The service was efficient and gracious, the staff were attentive yet discreet. We went as a couple, and we highly recommend this restaurant! 👍💪 Long live the Tabagnon!

14/05/2026: Small, cramped place with average food. The photos look nothing like the actual restaurant. Menu only in English, and every diner was from the US (we sat near the door so heard everyone come in - reservations only.). Really not sure where the positive reviews are coming from. Very disappointed that we wasted a Paris dinner at this place. Looks like a lot of the positive reviews come from ‘local guides’.

08/04/2026: A warm welcome, the smiles are delightful. The food is excellent. The price is reasonable. We love the cozy and inviting atmosphere. A truly delicious meal! Highly recommended!!

07/04/2026: A waitress tried to mitigate the unprofessionalism of our waitress, but the damage was done. We were hoping for at least a decent lunch, but we were disappointed. The fish and chips was mediocre, the fish overcooked, unlike the fries. Only the crema catalana was acceptable, and admittedly the bottle of wine was very good. In short, this bistro is expensive.

19/04/2026: The cuisine was refined, we ate very well. However, there were no amuse-bouches or appetizers. No petits fours with the coffee; the coffee was served alone with a single sugar cube. The worst part was the portion size: 50-70 grams of veal, the same for the fish, for a €56 menu. This seemed unacceptable to us. We will not be returning.

16/04/2026: A wonderful discovery, not far from Montélimar. We had a romantic dinner there. We opted for the €70 set menu (starter, fish, meat, and dessert). We thoroughly enjoyed it! The welcome and service were perfect. The dining room was lovely. The atmosphere was wonderful! I highly recommend it!

17/05/2026: March 2026 - Hippopotamus steakhouse on Bd du Montparnasse is our favorite one, the location is conveniently close to nearby hotels, friendly wait-staff, good food and attentive service until March 7, 2026. We ate on March 6 and went back the next evening. We were greeted and were seated to the left-hand side upon entering the restaurant, where two loudmouth American tourists were sitting behind us, for Hippopotamus seems to be popular among American tourists, as these foreigners only eat steak and burger! Their steaks are all pretty good : so on March 7 evening, I tried Steak au Poivre. Despite asking for rare, it arrived well-done, and the portion bore absolutely no resemblance to the photo on the menu—especially the actual serving size. The service on that evening was disappointing. After bringing the welcome potato chips on the table, the rest is a waiting game. We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order, another 10 minutes to get our drinks, another 10 minutes to get our appetizer and another 15 minutes for our main course. We watched people who were getting in AFTER us and left BEFORE us. What was supposed to be an enjoyable moment was ruined by an excessively long wait!

02/05/2026: We were delighted with our stay at Clos Du Vigneron. We were on a cycling tour, and everything was done to ensure we had a peaceful, restful, and rejuvenating night. Breakfast was truly excellent, and our host was very accommodating to our requests. The room was spacious and impeccably clean. Highly recommended accommodation, an address to remember, and a very warm welcome. The secure bike storage was also a nice touch.

08/02/2026: Every visit to this place is unforgettable; we're so glad we discovered it some twenty years ago... Everything is meticulously maintained, spotlessly clean, with beautiful paintings 😉, the service is very professional, and the meal...delicious! I congratulate the chef again on his refined cuisine, a feast for the eyes and the palate...simply excellent! See you soon!

19/04/2026: As a family of four, and for our first time at this restaurant, we booked by phone. From the moment we made the reservation to our arrival, the welcome was warm and friendly. The menu offers a variety of choices, and the dishes are delicious. And what can I say about the local cheese platter that was a true delight for our taste buds? 👍 The prices are reasonable and perfectly in line with the quality of the restaurant. Don't hesitate, it's a fantastic place!
