25/06/2026: Passing through Les Sables d'Olonne during a heatwave, I stopped at this restaurant to ask them to refill my water bottle. The owner clearly replied, "I'll fill it halfway." I asked him to fill it completely because it was 40°C outside, and that I would leave him some money if necessary. He said, and I quote, "If I have to do that for everyone, I'll never get anywhere." There's a certain level of basic courtesy that, unfortunately, seems to have disappeared in this world. I remind you that we're in the middle of a heatwave with temperatures reaching 40°C. It's not very customer-friendly. I still left him a two-euro coin.

10/06/2026: An excellent place to recommend and keep in mind. The pizza was superb, with a thin crust and quality ingredients! It had been a long time since I'd eaten such a good pizza. The decor and atmosphere are very pleasant; the eye is drawn to all the celebrity photos. It's quiet at lunchtime on weekdays, which is very much appreciated. The service was excellent.

07/06/2026: We stopped here because we love Tapas. We were so lucky to find this gem. Subtle seasoning to the amazing small plates. Enough to make you slow down and really taste to understand what you are eating. The sommelier was spot on for recommendation. All organic wine and a cheese plate that had a wonderful selection for texture and flavor. Hyper local and the chef is truly original.

25/06/2026: A very good restaurant, a nice change from crêperies. The dishes we tried were excellent. However, several things marred our experience. We had asked to dine on the terrace (which was set up), but this was refused, and we were forced to eat inside, in the air-conditioned dining room. Furthermore, the person we assumed to be the manager didn't seem particularly welcoming. Seeing her spend a large part of the evening sitting at a table in the restaurant on her phone didn't give a very professional impression. Finally, a more personal observation: the lobsters in the aquarium made us feel uneasy. The aquarium seemed very small and poorly maintained, giving the impression of being more of a decorative element than an environment suitable for their well-being.

08/05/2026: The restaurant is spotless and clean, with a lovely buffet and excellent food! The showers are spotless and excellent! There's a large parking area for trucks and oversized vehicles. I highly recommend this place!

08/04/2026: Good evening. We ate there on Wednesday, April 8th. The service is generally good. But today, not so great! What's more, a driver parked across the road! I reported it to the restaurant, and their response was: "I can't see anything from here." So, I conclude that drivers do whatever they want! Furthermore, I told him he had to move. He refused. So, I parked in front of him. He got out of his truck and even tried to hit me! He wasn't even scared. See the photos.

26/04/2026: The empty restaurant surprised us, as my mother is used to seeing it packed. But we had a good meal. I personally ordered a potato crisp with egg and mushrooms as a starter (I had my two companions try it, and they also approved), followed by a pork tenderloin stuffed with onions and mustard sauce (the meat was tender and well-cooked). The only downside was the cold potatoes at the bottom of the bowl, with a few warm ones on top. For dessert, a delicious chocolate pear choux pastry was a very generous portion; I thoroughly enjoyed it. The chocolate cream, for once, wasn't too sweet, and the choux pastry dome was lightly caramelized and crispy. As for the wine, I didn't like the Saumur at all, but my mother's red Burgundy was good. The waiter was friendly.

02/03/2026: Another great time spent at Hotel Les Peupliers, excellent food! Pleasant staff. The only downside was the spa; some people in front of us weren't really following the hygiene guidelines. Coming out of the hammam, all sweaty, they went straight into the jacuzzi. What's more, one of them didn't use a towel for the sauna... but it's difficult to enforce the rules despite the written instructions. Otherwise, everything else was very good.

26/04/2026: While visiting my husband's childhood village, we had a wonderful stay at L'Ouillette, a hotel and restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; dinner and breakfast were perfect, the rooms were clean, and the owner was charming. We had a few requests, and she responded positively each time. We will definitely be back; I highly recommend this establishment!

24/04/2026: We had a fantastic lunch here whilst wine tasting in the area. A variety of fixed menu options. Food was really excellent. As was the service. And an interesting range of great local wines by the glass: Maranges, Mercurey, Santenay etc. Would love to eat here again one day!
