11/08/2026: We had a wonderful time as a family (2 adults and 3 children). We hadn't booked and were welcomed with great kindness. The menu featured Corsican products. The burger was delicious, as was the vegetarian platter with its brucciu fritters. And all at a great price.

In any case, the person who gave them to me said they were the most expensive Paris-Metz in town. But what I do know is that I know the Paris-Metz, which, in my opinion, is the best pastry in the world. So you can imagine my disappointment when I found raspberry jelly in the center of the biscuit, and even worse when I couldn't find the Harlequin flavor in the cream. 31/07/2026: We had lunch there twice (three days apart) and I highly recommend it. The dishes are unique and homemade (I was blown away by a dish with fermented lemon). There are three main courses on the menu, always including a ravioli gratin and a vegetarian option (both tried and tested). The desserts and appetizers are elaborate and delicious. It's a flawless experience from start to finish when it comes to food.

The staff were very welcoming (even my dog ​​got a bowl of fresh water), the meal was excellent and very good value for money, there was a small shaded outdoor terrace, and the restrooms were very clean. Well done and thank you!

08/08/2026: Overall, we enjoyed our meal, but unfortunately, several disappointments piled up throughout. The warm goat cheese salad wasn't really a warm goat cheese salad at all, but rather a salad with a goat cheese puff pastry. We also ordered the Cantal burger, but the Cantal cheese was missing and replaced with simple slices of cheddar. A shame, especially since cheese is advertised as a key ingredient. On the other hand, a special mention goes to the blue cheese sauce, which was truly excellent! As for the sweetbreads with morels, the pea purée was very good, but its flavor was so overpowering that it completely masked the taste of the sweetbreads and morels. Moreover, the portion size was very small for a €26 dish. The value for money seemed a bit poor. The same was true for the desserts: €10 for two prunes seemed quite expensive. The fruit cup of the day was unfortunately not up to par either. And the whipped cream, probably from the last of the tub, had lost much of its fizz. We also discovered that the small cake meant to accompany dessert hadn't been served: we were simply told it was "an oversight." It's a shame, we would have appreciated having the full dessert that was planned. In the end, the dishes were generally good, but all these little things combined left us feeling somewhat disappointed during the meal. With a few adjustments and a better quality/quantity/price ratio, the experience could have been much better.

18/08/2026: It's difficult to find an open restaurant in La Châtre in mid-August... So we ended up at Freddy's, a well-reviewed brasserie. Almost all the tables were occupied, but we were given one. The place was very noisy, and the waiters were running around everywhere. The wait to be served reflected this. The bread basket we ordered never arrived at our table. As for the food... Judging by the menu, it seems nothing is homemade, so don't expect anything other than very basic fare. Chicken tenders for my partner, goat cheese salad (on sliced ​​bread 😩) for me... Frozen fries... In short... I wouldn't call it a restaurant, but it all depends on what you're looking for. We didn't try the "Alsatian specialties," so we can't comment on them. The owner, however, remained pleasant and smiling.
