13/06/2026: First visit to this bakery: I tried the pain au chocolat and the flan. As other reviews have mentioned, the pain au chocolat looks a little smaller than average. This isn't a weight issue, but rather a problem with how it's risen. Looking inside, you can see a slight lack of air pockets. It's a shame, because a more developed pain au chocolat would have a lighter crumb and a fuller, plumper, and therefore more visually appealing appearance. In terms of taste, however, it was excellent. You can tell the ingredients are high quality: the butter is prominent and gives a pleasant flavor, while the chocolate is delicious. In fact, there are three chocolate bars, which is a nice touch. At €1.20, the price is very reasonable, especially when you consider that just a few meters away, the same product sells for €1.55. Regarding the flan (€3.90 per slice), the portion is generous and attractive. The filling is pleasant on the palate: neither too dense, as is often the case with some more traditional recipes, nor excessively creamy. The balance is well achieved. However, the pastry is slightly lacking in crispness, which would have provided a more interesting textural contrast. In short: good ingredients, reasonable prices, and overall quality that lives up to expectations. A few adjustments to the rising of the pain au chocolat and the crispness of the flan pastry would allow it to reach an even higher level.

08/02/2026: Dinner on the 7th, a warm welcome and very pleasant service. The dishes we ordered—hanger steak, fish and chips, and veal escalope with cream sauce, served with fries and salad—were all very, very good. High-quality ingredients. The only slight drawback, which I didn't factor into the bill, was the "café gourmand" (a selection of small desserts served with coffee). It was missing one or two items; a scoop of ice cream or a mini crème brûlée would have been a welcome addition for €7.50. I mentioned this when we paid. Otherwise, don't change a thing! Excellent food.

17/05/2026: March 2026 - Hippopotamus steakhouse on Bd du Montparnasse is our favorite one, the location is conveniently close to nearby hotels, friendly wait-staff, good food and attentive service until March 7, 2026. We ate on March 6 and went back the next evening. We were greeted and were seated to the left-hand side upon entering the restaurant, where two loudmouth American tourists were sitting behind us, for Hippopotamus seems to be popular among American tourists, as these foreigners only eat steak and burger! Their steaks are all pretty good : so on March 7 evening, I tried Steak au Poivre. Despite asking for rare, it arrived well-done, and the portion bore absolutely no resemblance to the photo on the menu—especially the actual serving size. The service on that evening was disappointing. After bringing the welcome potato chips on the table, the rest is a waiting game. We waited 15 minutes for someone to take our order, another 10 minutes to get our drinks, another 10 minutes to get our appetizer and another 15 minutes for our main course. We watched people who were getting in AFTER us and left BEFORE us. What was supposed to be an enjoyable moment was ruined by an excessively long wait!

12/06/2026: Pleasantly surprised! A fantastic establishment offering quality cuisine in a simple yet welcoming atmosphere, with very friendly, smiling, and attentive servers (a special shout-out to Lola, who was perfect from start to finish)! I'll be back very soon in August!

11/06/2026: Yet another beach restaurant! Neither good nor bad. What you should expect from an establishment whose only real skill is choosing an exceptional location is that of the owner. The efforts of the waitstaff fail to compensate for the vanity of what appears to be the chef. If you end up having a good time, it's because you're not going to waste precious moments with friends on a restaurant you'll have forgotten as soon as this post is published. You can go there if you must. As for me, I'll leave it to the Instagrammers and other compulsive selfie-takers.

13/06/2026: A superb place for lunch, Le Saint Régis is the ideal spot for lunch or dinner at the foot of the Montmartre Basilica. From appetizer to dessert, it's a delight: fresh ingredients, generous portions, and beautifully presented dishes. The staff is friendly, always smiling, and attentive to your needs. I highly recommend this restaurant and will gladly return.

31/05/2026: The coffee was bad. It took 42 minutes for them to bring deli slices of sandwich meat which was the charcuterie plate. The bread was not even stale, it was hard. 26 euros. They were playing Eminem. There were 5 other tables.

12/03/2026: The best meal of our Paris trip! The restaurant is crowded and bustling with people excited to eat good food, and by god, do they ever. From ambiance to decor to service, Le Servan nails exactly the right vibe and atmosphere, and it was a pleasure to lunch here from start to finish. And the food, well... Every dish was a surprise, a wink and nod of flavor mashups and texture triumphs. Truly delicious stuff here folks. We got the oysters zakutski, then for apps white asparagus and langoustine & pork ravioli, then the fish du jour (white fish, pumpkin and caviar) to end. (We also got some wines, which were good but I'm not as partial to the natural wine wave so YMMV.) We were too full for dessert and, anyways, had a pocket pain au chocolat from the best boulangerie in the city stashed away (solque bruno). What was I saying? Oh, right - go eat here and be happy.

11/03/2026: A very pleasant evening at Le Servan. We found ourselves at your restaurant following Michelin recommendations. The food was good and quite generous, and the waiter provided excellent service in making his recommendations. Furthermore, the staff is accustomed to an international clientele, which is a definite plus. The only downside, and it's a bit of a shame, was the rather ordinary tableware and the somewhat high wine prices.
