09/04/2026: Lunch was great, the menu was comprehensive and reasonably priced, the setting extraordinary with a sublime view of the Albères and Canigou mountains while enjoying coffee, the owner was fantastic and even offered a fabulous little infused rum. In short, we were very happy with this new experience under the new management.
A minor point about the starter buffet: it was missing duck pâté, plain grated carrots, and tomato and mozzarella salad. Thanks again. We'll be back very soon.

18/12/2025: We were looking for a traditional pub, so I called to check if the restaurant was open, specifying that we were looking for a pub... However, when we arrived, we were only able to get a meal from the chip shop menu.
Nevertheless, the service was good, the portions were quite generous, and the price was reasonable.

08/03/2026: Excellent cuisine featuring specialties from the Ardèche and Rhône-Alpes regions, among others, and a good selection of wines. Local, fresh, and high-quality products. Very good value for money. The welcome is warm and friendly in a beautiful, newly renovated dining room, and on sunny days, the pleasant panoramic shaded terrace is a real bonus.
A delicious and convivial meal is guaranteed, and we will gladly return. Thank you to the entire team at "Chez Germaine"!

The welcome was truly warm. The service was impeccable and attentive.
One of our guests was lactose intolerant, and the dishes were prepared accordingly. The cuisine is made with fresh, local ingredients. The dishes are beautifully presented. The price is very reasonable.
It's a really excellent restaurant with very professional staff.
We'll definitely be back, with our taste buds ready to go! 😊

At the roadside diner, the prices are reasonable considering the quality and freshness of the appetizers, main course, and dessert.
Everything is generous, the service is quick, and it's surprisingly quiet (you can actually hear yourself talk). I love going there to eat.

It's not my usual practice to do this kind of thing, but I've known and frequented this establishment for 30 years, and I've noticed and, above all, heard many customer complaints. My post is a warning. The comments concern a slight decline in quality and, especially, a significant drop in the owner's service. It's becoming difficult to communicate with her; she doesn't tolerate any criticism, and during service, she doesn't describe the dish or its ingredients. For an establishment of this renown, which once made us dream, please return to your core values. Thank you.
25/04/2026: A restaurant that will remain etched in our memories, a very pleasant place where the food is excellent and the welcome is superb. We held our wedding there and it was wonderful. It's a shame this restaurant is going to disappear. An establishment with a real history. Mrs. Rahyr, Isabelle, and Raynald.

14/04/2026: Family lunch with our children. The restaurant has a hushed and contemporary atmosphere, and the service is efficient and discreet. The food is good and well-executed, but it didn't quite live up to the expectations or surprises we had anticipated from a Michelin-starred restaurant.
13/04/2026: A truly wonderful culinary experience in an idyllic setting. A very warm welcome.
I was particularly surprised by the subtlety of the amuse-bouche and the cold appetizers. It was flawless and I'll definitely be back.

16/01/2026: A small establishment with a limited menu featuring fresh, homemade dishes. Traditional cuisine and fish, depending on the season's catch.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish, and I loved the serving hatch, just like in the movie "La Grande Vadrouille" 🤣. The dining room isn't large, so it's very intimate, but it's not recommended for very active children.
An address to remember, especially since it's listed in the 2026 Petit Futé guide.

30/11/2025: First of all, over the past few years we've dined at every restaurant in the Pays de Fayence region several times. Every single one, without exception, sometimes with friends or with our association, but we have a pretty good grasp of the local culinary scene. So much so that we could write a guidebook...
We were at Carré d'Ange for the third time in three years. The first two times, we were blown away and even ranked this temple of gastronomy among the top 5 restaurants in the Pays de Fayence, including Terre Blanche.
Alas, last night was a disappointment! Only two tables were occupied on a Saturday night, ours by the fireplace, which was still very pleasant. The welcome was quite decent, provided by a waitress and a young sommelier. A limited menu, which is usually a good sign.
The waitress highly recommended the rabbit à la royale (in tiny print hidden on the menu: a €20 supplement on the €79 set menu, honestly!). In the end, we chose starters (quite good, let's say 18/20) and pigeon (very small), and a veal dish that was incredibly tough! You practically needed a saw to cut those pieces. Unacceptable!
On the positive side: plenty of amuse-bouches, a veritable cascade of words explaining every precious detail of the dish, a truly magnificent dessert, a large cheese platter from a supplier in Châteaudouble, and a good wine list ranging from €40 to €2200.
In short: the meat left a bad taste in our mouths! Unacceptable for a fine restaurant. A lot of fuss for food that was just okay, nothing more, and downright bad in the case of the veal. There's clearly an imbalance between the usual high-end service and such poor cooking!
