02/09/2026: A lovely place, but unfortunately, the food doesn't live up to the setting of this beautiful restaurant. The fries are frozen, the vegetables are reheated cans, and I suspect the ground beef patties are low-grade, supermarket-style (a second patty offered in a €4 burger gives you an idea of ​​its cost). As for the veggie burger, it's a pre-made one that's been reheated. Absolutely nothing we ordered was homemade! We didn't order fish, but in my opinion, given the wide selection on the menu, it can only be frozen. The menu also offers many types of meat, but unless they're also frozen, it's impossible, in my opinion, to maintain a manageable stock of fresh produce. Absolutely nothing is local or organic; this establishment is clearly trying to make as much money as possible with minimal fresh and/or quality ingredients. While the price seems perfectly reasonable on paper, it's incredibly expensive for the quality of the food (canned, ready-made, and frozen). It's a real shame, as the restaurant itself is clean and the wait time for service is quite reasonable.

05/10/2026: In September, after our visit to Château le Paluel, which I highly recommend, we chose this restaurant and opted for the Feast Menu, which truly lives up to its name! A generous and delicious meal, prepared with fresh produce, some of which came directly from the farm. The plates were beautifully presented, with great care and delicate floral touches. A wonderful introduction to Périgord cuisine in a pleasant countryside setting. We thoroughly enjoyed it! A word of advice, though: plan this menu for lunch, as it's quite substantial.

Special mention to the owner, who shared the secret to his homemade ice cream with us—a truly kind gentleman. Don't hesitate to make this culinary detour.

20/07/2026: Best croissant we ever had and lovely fresh baguette. It gets very busy due to the popularity of the place. Takeway. No sitting option, no restrooms available

20/07/2026: I had a baguette and a croissant. The freshly baked croissant had a firm crust and was quite substantial. It was buttery and delicious fresh out of the oven! I found it a little on the salty side, but it was a unique croissant unlike any I've had elsewhere, and very tasty. Unfortunately, the baguette wasn't quite to my liking. Both the croissant and the baguette were rather chewy, so I think it might depend on personal preference. It might also be due to differences in Japanese tastes. I went there a little after 8 AM on a Saturday, mainly for the market across the street, but there was no waiting time.

26/07/2026: The pizza was burnt to a crisp... I ordered a merguez pizza, and I only got four tiny slices. Very disappointed 😞 Maybe they should use less wood in the oven, or find a new pizza chef. Disgusting.

13/07/2026: Following a friend's suggestion, I went to eat at Monsieur Mavet's restaurant yesterday. I thoroughly enjoyed the welcome, the food, and the atmosphere. It's a restaurant like you rarely see anymore: unpretentious but with good, fresh, and well-prepared ingredients, generous portions, and all at a reasonable price. I'll definitely be back.
