10/12/2025: Excellent meal. The fish soup and Le Palis salad were delicious. I wanted something light for dinner, but the glowing description of the house-smoked filet mignon won me over! I have absolutely no regrets. The filet mignon was sliced ​​into incredibly generous portions, served with Breton andouille sausage, walnuts (not rancid, unlike those served elsewhere...), and confit gizzards in a subtle blend bursting with flavor, enhanced with a touch of raspberry vinegar. What more could you ask for? And all for a very reasonable price! Top-notch. I'll be back.

06/05/2026: We chose this restaurant based on reviews and its very good rating (4.6/5), but unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We learned that there had been a change of ownership recently, which may explain the difference compared to previous reviews. The €16.50 set menu (starter/main or main/dessert) is appealing, and the welcome and service were pleasant, the waitress was smiling, and the place was charming. However, the food did not impress us. The dish of the day (sole à la provençale) was very disappointing: cold rice, cold side dishes, very dry, overcooked, unpleasant fish with a strong odor. The seasoning was practically nonexistent (no sauce, oil, or butter), just a sprinkling of herbes de Provence, which made the dish rather bland and very dry. It really tasted like something from a bad school cafeteria, which is a shame. The desserts, on the other hand, were good and decent for the price. We hope this comment will help, because the potential of the place and the service is there, but the food clearly deserves to be improved.

07/09/2025: We had lunch at L'Orée du Bois a week ago. We really enjoyed the setting. We had a table inside, which is clearly a few years old but well-maintained and in very good condition. The dining room is elegant and quiet. We had a lovely view of the terrace, which was very green and beautiful. However, the food was disappointing, especially considering the price. The amuse-bouches were pleasant, but the rest of the meal didn't live up to expectations. The main course was sea bass with beurre blanc sauce, presented in a style reminiscent of 20 or 30 years ago. The dessert consisted of figs that had absolutely no flavor. Truly none, which is surprising given that these fruits are at their peak ripeness at this time of year. The service was unfriendly, unavailable, and gave the impression of being forced to work without any enjoyment. We agreed that this beautiful setting deserved a refresh of the culinary offerings.

31/05/2026: A wonderful place where everyone is warmly welcomed. A bistro that maintains the most important aspect: a place to chat about anything with anyone. Incredible draft beers. Stars like Jean Paul Gaultier and Jordan Bavella have been spotted there. You can even get a top-notch chicken on Sundays. Don't hesitate to place a bet on the 7th place bet with a Chouffe beer and life will be good. Highly recommended.

The Mapo Tofu was actually pretty good, I can't deny that, but the service was incredibly slow. There weren't even many people there. The main point is... I'll never come back. I arrived at 7:30 p.m. with my wife for her birthday and chose to dine here because we were attending the candlelight show at the same venue afterwards. Unfortunately, our food was not served until 8:40 p.m., leaving us only about 10 minutes to eat before we had to rush to the show. The long wait put a damper on what was meant to be a special evening. While delays can happen, we would have appreciated better communication and a sincere apology.
