04/07/2025: More than fabulous: the BEST of my entire life! (My life = 200 nights per year on average, 3 continents, 60 countries). A hostel furnished with multiple large, cozy, and airy spaces, all in a classic (yes!) barrel-style decor that inspires a radiant history without anything feeling "old-fashioned." The breakfast served at the table is lovely and of superior quality (everything is homemade). The restaurant is gourmet, and the major success: the price isn't bad because the high quality, flavors, harmonies, and quantity are all there. Large, modern rooms with a bathroom worthy of Cleopatra. The pool and spa are super clean and super modern, and in keeping with this atmosphere of timeless perfection. And the service: wow, the service is provided by very attentive, very kind, and very professional staff, without being obsequious. Attentive and even considerate... The fifth-generation owner is in the kitchen. Personally, I think Etchebest should come here for a refresher... "The French tradition of hospitality and quality still exists in reality, despite the human meditation of social media and other anorectic virtualities." The proof is here... it's worth the detour. I'll end with this: I read the lowest ratings and wondered if these people had the wrong hotel or if everything has changed since then, because these comments about the noise, the welcome, the service, the culinary quality have nothing to do with what we experienced (My mother, 85 years old, my other half, 23 years old, and I, 59 years old that day (3 nights).

02/07/2025: We stayed at St. Walfrid twice (winter 24 and June 25). The rooms are immaculate and the dinner was an awakening of the senses. There was nothing that could have been better. Whether it was the service from the entire team, the quality of the meals prepared in the restaurant or the comfort and ambiance of the hotel, which represents an elegant fusion of rural farmhouse and luxury hotel - truly an island of serenity to relax, near the border.

14/12/2024: Always a pleasure to eat here, superb service and matching food, the knowledgeable staff are happy to make recommendations and will even suggest the eating order of the foods to maximise the experience, the cognac bar is well stocked for those partial to an after meal digestive, yes, the price may seem high but when you consider the quality, and the fact the portions are well sized, this is actually a well balanced outlay. The restaurant is able to cater for gluten intolerance without notice and understand allergies. Not being french, my knowledge of expensive fermented grape juice is limited, but I do know that the selection caters for many tastes and budgets and again, the staff are happy to recommend matched wines

25/09/2024: First of all, like many reviews, the cuisine is excellent, quality products, well cooked, and with a beautiful presentation. However, 2 things spoiled our experience a little. When booking, my companion specified that we were coming with a child and asked what was on offer. We told him puree, small vegetables and shrimp, which we were delighted with. On site the little one's chair was already ready and in a very good location (not at the back of the room 🙏) When ordering, the waitress not having offered us anything, we asked for the children's dish: spaghetti with butter. We asked, with vegetables? Shrimp? Maybe smaller pasta? >>No (Spaghetti and children in a chic restaurant = potential carnage). So a big dish of spaghetti (artisanal) but really dry for a little one. We added our (delicious) razor clam juice to enhance the dish. For 15 euros, we found it excessive, scoop of ice cream extra. Positive point, they offered us the rest to take away. So great for parents but not too much for little foodies. Also, squeezed lemon is usually served with a sugar bowl and a pitcher of water, so that you don't have to beg for sugar pods.

20/12/2024: Nice discovery Tuesday lunchtime. There were five of us. Top notch welcome. The place is really very nice with the fireplace. The chef is inventive and pleasant. We had a blast. To recommend.

17/12/2024: Nice surprise this afternoon, thanks to a friend we arrive at five. Neat setting with the fireplace which gives a good atmosphere. Impeccable welcome and service. The meal is a delight, very innovative cuisine. We had a great time. To recommend.

07/07/2025: June 24th at lunch, my birthday lunch. No ventilation or air conditioning that day. Very hot outside. 58 euro menu, probably a poor choice on my part, the free-range egg. Vomiting and nausea 2 hours after the meal. A distant welcome.

20/12/2024: One evening by chance, as a family, 4 adults and 1 child, we had a great time. The service at the top, well adapted to our special requests for each, the starters, main courses and desserts very good, homemade and made to order! Thank you for this moment and we recommend.

14/09/2024: Con Prenotazione on line siamo stati accompagnati da una gentile signora ad un tavolo al coperto. Location storica, servizio bellissimo ( il migliore in questi giorni a Parigi) e simpatico, cibo molto buono, formaggi fantastici, aperitivo buono, coq au vin particolari.... Le crepes susette meritano una menzione speciale , oltre che scenica la loro preparazione. Un locale storico di Parigi, che conserva fascino. Adatta anche a famiglie. 01/09/2024: Repas de midi pris au Moulin de la Galette, nous n'avons vraiment pas été déçus. Restaurant situé à Montmartre, à quelques pas de la Place du Tertre. Cadre magnifique. Nourriture excellente. Les serveurs sont professionnels mais vraiment sympas. Prix raisonnable au vu de l'endroit. N'oubliez pas de réserver.
