But without a doubt, the best part was the restaurant. A delicious menu that surprised you with every dish. To finish, a truffle crunch cookie that was more than a dessert—it was a work of art. Furthermore, the service was warm, friendly, and attentive. Congratulations to the chef and the owner. They provided us with an unforgettable experience. :)

30/01/2026: I loved it: the friendly staff, the atmosphere, the creativity, the reasonably sized menu, the homemade bread, the discovery aspect, and the little freebies at the beginning. What I liked less: the sweetbreads were too salty for my taste, the dish was lukewarm, lacked crispness, the pigeon leg was too small, I was hungry when I got home, the starter was tiny, the wine by the glass was overpriced for the small amount served (10cl max?), no option to buy a bottle, filtered water was extra even though it's allowed, and the final bill...

08/01/2026: We arrived for lunch late this afternoon (2:30 pm) with my partner and our baby. We received a very warm welcome and helpful advice on our menu choices. We were very pleasantly surprised by the value for money and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. A wonderful discovery that we highly recommend!

28/11/2025: Excellent lunch in a pleasant setting, decorated with vintage kitchen utensils and antique tools in a heritage style. No frills here, you know why you're there. No menu that takes you two hours to read; the daily specials are announced in advance. A couple welcomes you in a simple and warm manner, and the owner even serves you in the dining room, offering friendly words. You can tell he's attentive and wants you to be satisfied. His wife completes the ambiance with her courteous smile and her willingness to make sure you're well received. It was my first time there, and on my birthday no less, but certainly not my last.

26/10/2025: A very nice discovery 👌 it starts with a very warm welcome 😊 a cozy and very calm atmosphere (5 tables). A really pleasant, kind, involved waiter who clearly loves his job. We started with a homemade mushroom and foie gras velouté. Then a shredded beef (perfectly cooked 😋) Followed by a very good chocolate fondant 🍫 roasted with coffee. A perfect pairing with the wines 🍷 under the advice of our head waiter. A faultless meal from start to finish, we highly recommend this restaurant. Very beautiful wine environment in all seasons. 08/07/2025: One word: outstanding. From the very beginning, everything was seamless — starting with the ease of the reservation system. The restaurant is located in a charming seaside town, and it beautifully embraces its historical roots. Being right by the water adds a magical touch, but the interior is just as captivating. The atmosphere inside is warm and full of character. The vintage photographs hanging on the walls are simply beautiful — and after reading about the restaurant’s history in the menu, seeing those photos brings the whole story to life. It’s like stepping into a living memory, where past and present come together in the most elegant way. The menu is thoughtful and well-curated, and you can tell great care goes into how each dish is prepared and cooked. The flavors were absolutely on point — every bite was memorable. The service was equally impressive: attentive, friendly, and professional from start to finish. I’ve been thinking hard, but I genuinely can’t find a single flaw. It was simply perfect in every way.

06/07/2025: My family was so excited to eat at La Mere Germaine based on reviews and word-of-mouth in various Facebook groups. Unfortunately, our experience was not good. While we did like the location by the sea in Villefranche, the food and the service were severely lacking. The waiter completely forgot to bring my husband’s drink; we never received it. One of my children ordered a burger from the kids’ menu, and we requested the meat to be cooked “à point” for medium (medium rare would also have been ok), and the burger was cooked beyond well done and was awful. The first appetizer arrived, and then my daughter’s meal arrived. She was the only one with food, and we waited quite a while for the second appetizer. By the time our main courses arrived, my daughter was done with her dinner. The timing was so poor. The ceviche appetizer was ok, but the lobster ravioli appetizer was a (bad) joke for the quantity and price. Not to mention that the ravioli itself didn’t taste very good. The main courses were disappointing as well. We’re foodies and have dined at excellent restaurants throughout Paris and the French Riviera. We didn’t have one bad meal—until we dined at this restaurant. Nice and Villefranche have so many restaurants that are better, and some are also less expensive. I happily pay a lot for good food and service, and I received neither. I surmise that La Mere Germaine is surviving based on its history and reputation, but the actual experience is a let down for sure. I would recommend going elsewhere.

02/01/2026: O Noodle in Nancy is a solid spot when you want comforting Asian noodles without overthinking it. The main reason it works is the balance between portion size and price. Bowls are filling, flavors are bold, and the menu gives you enough variety to come back and order something different. A lot of guests mention that the noodles and broths taste homemade and that takeaway is packed well, which makes it a reliable option even when you are not dining in. The experience is usually quick and casual, which fits the central location. The one thing to watch is spice level. Some dishes can be surprisingly hot, so if you are sensitive to spice it helps to ask for a milder version. Service is generally efficient, but a few reviews suggest it can feel rushed during busy hours, so going slightly off peak can make the visit more relaxed.

05/12/2025: Truly the worst Michelin experience I’ve ever had, and the worst meal I had in 2025. Boyfriend said it was nearly comical, we watched them spill dessert on a persons jacket, run around frantically, take 1 hour to bring us next course and unapologetic. Watched manager try to wrangle his team but there was no hope 😅 Honestly good for them- bamboozling us for money for the worst meal they could have conjured. Save your money or literally go anywhere else. 🫠

04/12/2025: A wonderful experience alone at the bar, with a front-of-house team just the way we like them: relaxed yet highly professional, perfectly complementing a kitchen team that does a remarkable job under sometimes challenging conditions, guided by Chef Flavio, who is as passionate as a volcano but exudes the calm of a great chef.
