28/09/2024: Restaurant set back from the Fontaine but idyllic, cozy setting. Very affordable prices given the quality of the products on the plate. Absolutely friendly staff.

03/12/2024: Innanzitutto è meglio prenotare. Diversi clienti si sono presentati (era un sabato ora di pranzo), ma non c'era posto. Il locale stile baita di montagna è curioso, ti cala nell'atmosfera di ciò che starai per mangiare. Tavolo con griglie di cottura annesse (un po' di attenzione è necessaria, il tavolo non è molto grande), menu non chiarissimo (con dei distinguo fra weekend e resto della settimana, ad esempio), spazi piuttosto ridotti. Ma poi quando si comincia a mangiare (servizio velocissimo) passa tutto e si unisce un po' di divertimento al gusto di assaggiare tutto. Abbiamo preso sia la Raclette Nature con aggiunta di carne di manzo (sempre da cuocere) comprensiva di patate a parte - tante - e pane, che la Fondue Savoyarde (che comprende anche un piatto di insalata verde e pane). Hanno portato anche affettati, cetriolini sottaceto. Infine anche una classica Tartiflette. Tutto gustoso, tempo che scorre ma non te ne accorgi. Unico neo il vino. Poca scelta, un normalissimo bianco Cotes de Gascogne (IGP, ma niente di eccezionale) pagato 27€ (bottiglia). Spesa totale attorno ai 100€ (poco più). Ci tornerei volentieri.

26/09/2024: Frankly, I don't understand the rating being so high, certainly the setting and the service are very good, fast, maybe even too much, but the cooking clearly leaves something to be desired, a banal and poorly balanced dish, really not great mouthfeel.. for a restaurant of this standing it's shameful. I am really kind in my rating because the quantity is there, but not the quality and if you want gastronomy, do not choose this restaurant.

09/07/2025: A superb establishment, we felt at home there, both thanks to the welcome and what was in front of us... it was delicious, and in terms of value for money, it was top-notch. A menu that changes with the seasons and the chef's whims. Thank you for these lovely moments; we felt truly welcome in Vendée!

The pancakes, crepes and different dishes are a real treat!! The friendly and relaxed atmosphere makes this place even more charming. 28/09/2024: sorry we didn't like our meal. the atmosphere is very friendly, the service is smiling. Afterwards, it's true that the menu is small, which is to your credit because the gentleman is apparently all alone in the kitchen. the rawer starter we didn't like at all fatty mixture of herring and fatty pork....the quenelle was dry the andouillette is small and the cold meats lacked a little freshness too bad.

06/11/2024: We spent a weekend with family (19 people) in a cottage near Pontlevoy. The Auberge de l'École provided the catering service with high quality and carefully crafted seasonal products. The implementation was facilitated by very clear and precise instructions. We were able to devote ourselves to sharing family moments without worrying about stewardship. These good times continued during meals. Thanks again - a very good and beautiful house.

03/11/2024: Great weekend in Pontlevoy: Our suite was great, very spacious and atypical. We also tried the restaurant and we also really enjoyed the dinner. The breakfast was plentiful and very varied. The staff combined good advice and friendliness. We had a pleasant stay in Pontlevoy

03/12/2024: We stopped at the Phoenix by chance during a business trip. And chance did things well: excellent meat, generous portions, a divine tropézienne for dessert, friendly and professional service despite our late arrival. A nice chef. A simple establishment but which honors the national cuisine. Don't hesitate. Run there. Didier and Woong.

15/12/2024: Aucun reproche pour la cuisine et les serveurs. Par contre, un gros manque de transparence sur les tarifs. L’eau est facturée 15€ par personne mais on n’en connaît pas la provenance. Elle est servie au fur et à mesure dans un contenant anodin. On pourrait penser à la carafe classique mais sur la note finale, on en verra la difference. La tarification des vins est également opaque.le service au verre est annoncé de 18 à 30€ ( de mémoire ) et sans information c’est 22 et 25€ sans avoir recherché le haut de gamme. Le café (accompagné) à 9€ finit d’achever la facturation. Et puis, dès le début,quand l’apéritif est proposé, le serveur arrive en présentant 3 champagnes. Et la , naïveté du client!! La coupe à 30€ par personne. Bref, une expérience culinaire mais qui restera sans suite.

08/12/2024: Ludovic Turac est un magicien, avenant et, de l'avis unanime des filles présentes, beau de surcroît. Mêmes les males, jaloux, ne disent que c'est pas faux. Une cuisine exceptionnelle à laquelle il manque sans doute une étoile, qui ne saurait tarder. Une équipe adorable. La vue sur la Bonne Mère et le port ne gâte en rien ce délicieux moment. Merci pour le voyage.

16/12/2024: On s’en réjouissait On avait réservé , Assez surpris de voir le nombre de couverts par rapport à la superficie, c’était très serré, très inconfortable, … La serveuse qui veut desservir la table voisine, qui fait tomber les couverts quasiment dans mon sac à main, car elle voulait emporter tous les assiettes vides en un seul voyage… Les plats forcément, tout est servi séparément et quand vous avez une petite table, style table de bar et que vous avez un plat de crudités, un plat de patates, un plat de viande pour chaque convive, plus, la carafe, les verres à eau ou les verres à vin C’était vraiment très inconfortable de sentir serrés comme ça La cuisine , moyen Sans plus Les Winstub pour nous, c’est fini Nous continuerons à privilégier les brasseries
