06/04/2026: We counted more racist remarks from the waitress than bacon bits on our tarte flambée. Overall, the tarte flambée was good, although sparsely topped. I chose this restaurant to introduce people to Alsatian cuisine, but unfortunately, the evening was completely ruined. The waitress was drunk, made racist remarks, and behaved inappropriately towards several people at our table, all in front of children. In addition to her racist remarks, this woman took it upon herself to interfere in the conversations of all the tables. She spoke loudly from one side of the room to address tables at the other end. This is deeply shocking and absolutely unacceptable. What's most concerning is that this person is the owner's wife, and that this behavior is known and tolerated, since no action was taken. Despite the chef's apologies over the phone, this is not enough to compensate for the seriousness of the situation. It's truly a shame, because Alsace deserves better than this kind of situation. As it stands, we absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.

We dined there last night and everything was excellent: the cuisine, the perfect balance of flavors, the exquisite dishes, as well as the service and the ambiance. A truly delightful moment, both refined and welcoming. A place well worth a visit.

But the real treasure of this restaurant is its garden terrace: a verdant, calm, and incredibly romantic setting. You feel like you're in a little corner of paradise. The service is attentive and warm, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. An address I recommend without hesitation!

14/04/2026: Very average, disappointing for a gourmet restaurant! They would be better off offering only a daily special! The welcome wasn't very friendly, and one of the glasses wasn't spotless!

25/04/2026: With two friends, we were looking for a traditional restaurant in Saint-Étienne to have a good time. We were craving some good meat and a nice wine 🙂. The evening at La Java Bleue exceeded our expectations! We received a super warm welcome and were served by two very funny waiters with whom we had a lot of laughs!! The meat was top quality and served with fries cooked in beef fat... Believe me, they're nowhere near as good as McDonald's fries!! 😋😋😋😋 At the end of the meal, we were offered a small digestif (and not just any digestif, it was the very good Verveine du Forez...). Honestly, an excellent evening, and believe me, we'll be back... Top-notch restaurant!!! 😉

The service was also excellent, delivered with a smile and a friendly touch! We were so glad we were able to come before closing time for a well-deserved rest!

15/04/2026: A family-run restaurant of exceptional quality. We've been back since our first visit. The service is warm and attentive, and all the dishes are fresh. Unlike other "traditional" restaurants, they offer a vegetarian option upon request that is just as delicious as the daily menu. A true family business that deserves a bright future, so be sure to visit!

23/04/2026: I forgot to give my opinion, but we truly enjoyed ourselves. The quality was excellent, from the children's meals (which we appreciate when children are treated with the same respect as adults 🙂) to our own dishes, which were also delicious. I loved the pulled pork (just like Grandma used to make). The cheese platter was wonderful, as was the tiramisu 🤩. We came because of the location, as our son is passionate about trains, and without expecting anything special, we were more than happy with our meal. The service was impeccable. If we return to Paris, we will definitely come back. Thank you for this wonderful experience!
