03/07/2025: Important to know is computers and tablets aren’t allowed (though they won’t warn you before you order.) you can only use them in a small spot at the back of the establishment. Can’t even read a book on a kindle, too bad. But their screen rules strangely don’t apply to phones. The drinks being tasteless I would recommend elsewhere for that as well. Didn’t try the food

10/11/2024: We had dinner this evening at this establishment. A magnificent place and above all delicious dishes. The servers were really pleasant. Special mention for children/teenagers who are served with the same attention as adults and a suitable meal! Thank you

07/09/2024: We had a great time in this restaurant. A calm and intimate atmosphere. A pretty setting with simple and neat decoration. An organized service, and welcoming and smiling servers. As for the cuisine… We enjoyed ourselves. As much with the half duck breast in honey sauce and its small vegetables, as with the duck confit. Thank you so much for allowing us to end our stay on such a beautiful note.

02/11/2024: Disappointing cuisine, very salty and frankly old school. Friendly service but in a room where the gourmet restaurant adjoins the bistro. Very disappointed for an addition of €170 for 2. Many other much better and cheaper restaurants nearby.

11/09/2024: Arrêt au chalet de l'Aulp pour une note sucrée. Tarte myrtille très décevante et loin de faire honneur à la savoie et ses restaurants d'alpages. Simple fond de tarte baignant dans le jus des myrtilles décongelées. Sinon bel endroit et équipe sympathique.

07/12/2024: A little out of the ordinary. I can't say that it's not terrible because the welcome is pleasant, the food decent, the price a little expensive...it's not ecstasy...it's still nice to have received a Saturday without reservation.. I admit that the staff is very friendly.

07/07/2025: An excellent stay in a magnificent location steeped in history, with impeccable welcome and service. We were delighted with the half-board option, including a very good evening meal and a well-deserved breakfast. We will be back very soon.

09/12/2023: A little disappointed with the menu. The carp gougeonnettes were a little bland, lacking in seasoning! Ditto frogs….. chicken dish with morel sauce and entrecôte it was ok but lacked flavor too. the ice cream desserts from the Alps: good but hey everyone knows…. The waitress, on the other hand, was very friendly. The value for money is a little expensive...139 euros for 3 without aperitifs, only a pitcher of white and rosé wine.

12/11/2023: A very good address that we are delighted to have discovered, The service is a little long but the culinary level makes us forget this detail... We started with an appetizer offered on our arrival (foie gras crème brûlée) Then we took the menus at 30th As a starter, choice between terrine or carp goujonettes with tartar sauce. The 2 dishes are validated 😊 served with green salad and grated carrots Then, choice between part of Butcher with shallot sauce or lamb shank. Also validated. Mention to the butcher's piece which was as melt-in-your-mouth as possible The 2 dishes were accompanied by butternut puree, zucchini flan and gratin dauphinois! Delicious ! The menu included cheese or fromage blanc. We opted for dry cheese: 5 top selections! And finally the desserts, 5 to choose from if I remember correctly and we had a gingerbread pear crumble and a chartreuse crème brulée! An explosion of flavors whether one or the other A very good time spent at this address. Possibility of eating Bresse chicken and frogs. We will come back !

01/09/2024: The five stars are well deserved. Everything here is very good! Everything (or almost) is homemade. It's hard to do better in terms of value for money. It's really an excellent address in Château-Gontier, and the welcome is wonderful and the service adorable. Special thoughts to the pretty Hélène who seduced us from the first time, more than two years ago already, and who has continued to dazzle us since, with her professionalism and her great kindness.. We are going to change region soon, so a big thank you for the good times had, and all the best to each of you.

26/08/2024: We were made very welcome, and we had a great time. The buffet was provided, the main course delicious, and the desserts, classic and good, with a selection of different pastries to note. The arbors are very pleasant in summer, and the reception and staff are really helpful and very friendly. The value for money is excellent.

In short, nothing to complain about. A restaurant that deserves to be highlighted. I came 8 years ago and it was also magical, the quality remains immaculate. Well done artist 😊

24/09/2024: We came for dinner after our Hennessy experience at Hennessy, and there they recomend us this place for dinner. The place is located in a super nice building in front of the local market. The service was exceptional (our waiter said was his first day, but he was super good). The food was exceptional, the music is an interesting option, with rap and a bit more modern music, but in a very good volume and selected with very good taste. And gives a very good ambience to the place. Was really difficult to choose what to eat, everything on the menu looks amazing. About the price we spent 37€ per person for a meal with a starters, mains, dessert and drinks (beers and cocktail). So I think is a very good price. We are going to come back for the lunch, they told us that for lunch they have a “markets menu”. We can only recommend this place on your next visit to Cognac.

22/09/2024: We experienced the Origins restaurant as a family last night and what can we say, just incredible, we had a great evening. Very warm welcome, background music, very pleasant setting 😊 The cocktails and the cuisine reflect the incredible restaurant 🤤 we had a great time, I really recommend this restaurant without hesitation 😊
