24/04/2026: A very warm welcome, quick service, and a €30 set menu (starter, main course, cheese, and dessert of your choice). All the dishes were delicious and beautifully presented. A lovely, well-decorated, and clean restaurant. We congratulated the owner and the chef. We will gladly return. They even have a €16 set menu for those interested.

On Friday we had a lovely time and a very good meal. The waitress was pleasant and helpful. 👍 For me, La Taverne remains a very good restaurant where we eat and relax. Thank you for your hospitality.

The spring rolls and loc lac were divine and exquisite.
Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is very popular.
29/04/2026: We came here on a weekday for a late lunch after a promenade through Parc Vincennes. We opted for the menu midi starting with nem porc and taking the crispy pork and crispy chicken as a main followed by an espresso/cafe. The 3 rolls were such a generous portion that I worried about the size of the main. The crispy pork was fried pork belly (like what you find as a key ingredient of Shanghai dish - hong shao rou) which was surprising. Why? Because in Vietnam we were often served thin-sliced barbecued/grilled marinated pork and in some cases the “chop” section of the pig. The crispy chicken was the thigh section flattened and battered. (fat and gristle included) Both plates were served as sliced meat with gelatinous soy-based sauce and rice. Service was very kind and quick. We appreciated the super-chilled water served in a bottle. Overhearing the wait staff’s conversation in Mandarin and recalling the menu offerings this is better characterized as a mostly Vietnamese southeast Asian restaurant.

26/04/2026: We ate there one evening, with a reservation. The welcome was very friendly. I was really very happy with the meal; the meat was excellent, cooked perfectly, everything was delicious, and the portions were very generous.

24/04/2026: We opted for the €41 set menu, which was a bit of a disappointment compared to what we experienced five years ago.
The foie gras, while a generous slice, had no flavor and seemed to be made from scratch.
The veal chop with fries was decent, and the beef fillet with fries was good, but the portion was tiny.
It's a shame; I had much better memories of it. Dessert: Vacherin...
Aperitif, Wine, and Coffee
18/04/2026: After a wonderful stay in Sarthe and Normandy, we came as a family to see our friend who was born in Normandy and grew up in Haute-Savoie, in our Genevois valley. It was a great pleasure, especially for our taste buds. I recommend him without hesitation, even though we know him very well.
Come and enjoy yourself, let him guide you in choosing your wine; you won't regret it.
And you'll tell me all about it.
