05/09/2026: Côté Pont – Maison de Cuisine is a wonderfully charming little restaurant in the heart of Pontarlier. The owner prepares a daily menu, from appetizer to dessert, with fresh, creative dishes and meticulous attention to detail. We were there last week, and the menu was fantastic: The appetizer was a beetroot quiche on a bed of salad—light, aromatic, and perfectly seasoned. The main course, a melt-in-your-mouth roast beef, was served with a delicious potato and cucumber gratin that was equally impressive. The owner is also wonderful: warm, attentive, and genuinely passionate.

30/08/2026: A restaurant with a retro and welcoming decor. The owner gave us a very warm welcome. There's only one set menu, and the wine list is presented in an old children's book. We had a lovely time there as a family and will probably return.

17/09/2026: A wonderful discovery! Warm welcome, generous and delicious portions. We highly recommend it.

08/09/2026: We arrived around 1 p.m. La Villette was packed. We asked for a table and were told yes, inside, no problem for us. We hardly had to wait before they brought us a carafe of water and took our order. The manager, who we imagined to be very pleasant and cheerful, was taken by us. If you don't know where to have lunch, don't hesitate to go to La Villette. The meal was very good, well-portioned, and for €19.50, frankly, you shouldn't miss out.

26/08/2026: A tribute to Roger and Marguerite (may their souls rest in peace) in this iconic and historic place. We were 20 years old, and all our dreams were fulfilled. We frequented this very welcoming and warm place; we felt at home, and the Auvergnats looked after us... they knew each of our names... I will never forget their welcome and the friendly atmosphere that reigned there... we were among ourselves in a spirit of friendship, in this charming brasserie. May this spirit continue to exist in these difficult times, when everything that is not us is observed and scrutinized... Let us continue to cultivate this spirit of "living together." Thank you all, and long live Le Gamin de Paris! A former patron of Le Gamin, who is 84 years old and still returns with pleasure whenever the opportunity arises! Thank you.

27/08/2026: We went there for lunch before our train and it was a pleasant surprise. Although the brasserie was full, the waiter took our train into account and served us as quickly as possible! If it's too late, he'll tell you instead of serving you anyway, even if it means missing your train! Excellent service. The second surprise was the quality of the food. A very good Savoyard brasserie with good value for money and generous portions: we ordered the Savoyard escalope, the Savoyard burger, and the pasta carbonara. Go without hesitation.

20/09/2026: Avoid this place if you just want a simple coffee. You can't pay by card. The minimum order is €5, but it's not displayed as required by law. And when you point it out, they openly ignore you. Not nice!

28/09/2026: The cappuccino was so delicious, I haven't had one like that in ages! Excellent and a beautiful atmosphere.

28/09/2026: Unwelcoming attitude from the staff when I arrived. This was then followed by my order disappearing and other customers who arrived after me walking out with their orders. When I checked I was again met with the same attitude and when the order finally arrived there was no apology and it seemed like I was inconveniencing the staff. Not sure if it was because I was speaking English, but it is an incredibly strange way to run a business if you want to be successful. The only saving grace is that the coffee when it finally arrived was quite nice, although not worth €5. Plenty of other cheaper and more friendly options around.

28/09/2026: Excellent restaurant, superb cuisine. I recommend the prawn and sweetbread vol-au-vents. Friendly atmosphere and pleasant staff. We will definitely return.

07/10/2026: Ridiculously good. We’ve ate at many Michelin star restaurants and the quality of the food and service here paralleled them. - I cook a lot. I obsess over making great chicken. This restaurant redefined for me what chicken can be — the mushroom butter sauce is perhaps my favorite sauce of all time. - They have a rare chartreuse selection. We started with a drink in the “cave” next to the restaurant. - The sommolier knew his wine (no surprise). I was at first angling for a Chablis or Sancerre but he recommended the white CDP so the chicken didn’t overpower the wine. It was both a great selection and cheaper than the options I was pointing out. They then decanted the wine, brought out an ice bucket — the whole deal that many restaurants will often skip. - Escargot and desert (the sorbets with the shell) were also both S-tier. At a Michelin tasting menu they both would have been standout dishes.

20/08/2026: Beautiful and delicious! We had a meat-based dinner, but I saw the next table enjoying the mussels as well. The interior is tastefully and pleasantly decorated. You can also dine outside.

22/09/2026: September 22, 2026 Staying at the Hôtel du Château in Tours, Sologne, after spending the day at the Château de Chambord, we booked a table at the crêperie La Bigouden. A very pleasant surprise! Friendly welcome, excellent galettes and crêpes. Good value for money. Reasonable prices. Reservations recommended. We will certainly return to the area to visit other castles and we will definitely come back for more galettes and crêpes. We recommend this place without hesitation.

05/09/2026: The portions were too small (for the salads) and the price too high (two small pieces of fried Camembert for €15). The à la carte dishes were rather basic. And indeed, the olives served with the aperitif were in very small quantities; it's a shame, they were delicious.

29/08/2026: The restaurant, located right on the water, has a very pleasant setting. The staff are very friendly and the service is relatively quick. The food is simple but tasty.
