The restaurant was practically empty... if this is the restaurant's policy, the owner could have explained it to us more politely.

07/08/2026: We discovered this small, family-run restaurant on our way to visit the Château d'Amboise. We were quickly seated on the lovely little terrace. I had the osso buco, the best I've ever had, and I'm not exaggerating—it was truly delicious. I recommend it to everyone. The service was quick and impeccable, and the price was more than reasonable. 28/07/2026: We were staying a night in Tournon (Hotel La Villeon - also great) and stumbled across Le Cerisier. Lucky us. The sort of high quality local restaurant you wish was within walking distance of where you live. Husband (front of house) and wife (in the kitchen) team. "Michelin-mentioned" food. We had the tasting menu which was as original, well-executed and lovely to eat as at any 3* Michelin restaurant. And at a fraction of the price. This is a great example of why you should try to avoid soulless chain restaurants. The experience was very special.

23/04/2026: Always a perfect welcome, delicious homemade food. We returned to this restaurant for lunch after a very satisfying first visit. The "roasted Camembert with salad" starter was very flavorful. The galette was generously filled and delicious. The chocolate fondant with its red berry coulis delighted my taste buds. All accompanied, for me, by a glass of Saumur Champigny. Congratulations and thank you again to the whole team. Highly recommended! 🤗

09/11/2025: Nice little restaurant; given the season, we had lunch inside. We enjoyed the homemade black pudding with mashed potatoes, which brought back memories of the good old days. Pleasant service and a very reasonable bill. What more could you ask for? We'll be back.

16/06/2026: Quite good. It's almost too popular in high season especially Saturday evening. Tight seating but not uncomfortable. Menu limited but adequate if you don't expect too much. Not too expensive but food not exceptional. Overall satisfied under the circumstances but Cateret is not my personal choice for good value dining. Wonderful today. Thank you

28/07/2026: We had a wonderful evening here. The vegan dish from the daily specials menu was fantastic, and the wine was excellent. The service was exceptionally attentive and friendly. The concise menu and the flexibility with special requests are also great. The location in the neighborhood near the river makes the visit perfect. Highly recommended!

20/07/2026: We passed by this place and it looks super cute, so we wanted to sit down and have drinks. Unfortunately the drinks have no taste , the wake up latte, the smoothies. So we were really disappointed.

02/08/2026: A wonderful experience. Our first visit was recommended by our host. A lovely restaurant with old-fashioned decor. We were warmly welcomed despite not having a reservation and were able to get a table inside, as requested. We opted for the €38 set menu. Seafood platter for starters, catch of the day with chorizo ​​for the main course, and apple/Calvados sorbet for dessert for me. Sea bream carpaccio, sole, and profiteroles for my husband. All accompanied by a half-bottle of white wine. It was delicious. So much so that we returned the next day. The welcome was just as warm. Special mention to Damien, who always has a touch of humor and a quick wit. Definitely worth a visit for its excellent value.

02/08/2026: Ate skate with beurre noisette and mashed potatoes; very small piece of fish and mashed potatoes; Fish of the day with chorizo; here too, a very small portion. Drinks and food much too expensive for what you get. Waiters seem a bit rushed; everything has to go very fast.

30/03/2026: A very warm welcome and excellent service in a place that combines a tobacconist, a bar, and a restaurant. The food is superb, whether it's the young rooster served on the menu or the free-range chicken from the Ain region with morels. It's the kind of place you wish you had right on your doorstep.
