12/07/2026: The owners and staff are really friendly. It's a fairly traditional café-tabac, with an indoor seating area and an outdoor terrace, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The menu offers a varied selection without being overwhelming, making it easy to find something you like. This little café is located in Comps-sur-Artuby, in a beautiful setting, near Bargème, two villages I highly recommend. In short, good food, welcoming people, and a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

12/07/2026: At "La Pile des Assiettes" (The Stack of Plates), the only risk is leaving with a stack of delicious memories! I had the pleasure of dining there with my sister yesterday, and we both left absolutely delighted. Each dish is a true work of art, a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. From appetizer to dessert, it's flawless, a veritable explosion of flavors. You can immediately tell that the food is prepared with passion, using the freshest ingredients. The side dishes, herbs, spices, and seasonings combine to create a marriage of exquisite flavors, highlighting each ingredient without ever masking its character. The portions are generous and perfectly balanced: you leave feeling completely satisfied, without the slightest hint of heaviness. And what can I say about the owner? Welcoming, refined, and attentive, she infuses this establishment with an elegance and warmth that make the experience even more memorable. It gives the place a soul as delightful as its cuisine. An address that deserves to be at the very top of your list of best restaurants!

07/07/2026: We regularly go to this restaurant for lunch; the welcome is friendly, the service is excellent, and the food is always high quality, with a great daily menu at a very attractive price. We also never leave without our two pizzas for dinner, which have never disappointed us.

04/08/2026: We've known this restaurant for years. The positive reviews belong to the previous owners! Today, we arrived at noon, had a quick aperitif, and the starter was perfect right after! But then, more than an hour later, we waited for our main course (like many other tables) with three children, and it was just hell. The service was simply not up to scratch! Instead of telling us they were overwhelmed and couldn't keep up, they preferred to tell us it was our fault for ordering à la carte! What a joke! So professional, no complaints there, lol. To sum it up, the food is very good, but the service, sorry, is nonexistent! In Lamastre, everyone knows Chez Germaine (my wife even went to school with the daughter of the previous owners), but until they resolve their service issues, I unfortunately advise against going there…

21/08/2026: This restaurant is right in the city center, and the service is truly excellent. I went for lunch and I recommend booking in advance, especially if you're coming in a group. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very pleasant. A great place to remember!

31/07/2026: I really like Le Loufoque, and the main reason I choose it over so many other board game bars is their menu: the food is excellent, not just snacks. The service is great, with friendly staff who are always available to advise and explain games. Unfortunately, the experience has deteriorated over time... I can't find any recent games, the older ones are in poor condition, it's still just as noisy, and above all, you feel crammed in. This isn't the experience I expect from a board game bar. We never go there as a couple because there's no way to play games that take up any space at a tiny table pushed right next to another tiny table. I think Le Loufoque caters more to players of party games.

12/06/2026: We spent a weekend there as a couple. What a shame! There was no kettle or coffee maker in the room... No slippers for the spa or tea corner. We didn't like being seated next to other people in the restaurant, even though there are several dining rooms... it lacked a cozy atmosphere. The meal wasn't exceptional, even though there were four courses for the price we paid. Outside, there was no space by the pool; all the lounge chairs were occupied by towels, but no one was sitting there! To top it all off, we were charged for drinks we didn't order... What a shame for such a beautiful establishment! We don't recommend this hotel...

10/06/2026: What a place to turn 40. 🎂 We spent three nights at Hostellerie des Châteaux on half-board for my birthday and left genuinely happy. The location on the Alsace Wine Route, at the foot of the Vosges, is beautiful, and the property's 2,500m² spa with its pools and saunas gives you plenty of reasons not to leave. The restaurant is the star. ⭐ Each dinner opened with an amuse-bouche, the courses built with real intention, and on our final evening the kitchen surprised us with an unprompted foie gras pâté and a full cheese course. The sommelier deserves his own mention: deep knowledge of Alsace wines, recommendations tailored to our table across all three evenings, and the single biggest reason the dinners will stay with us. 🍷 Breakfast matched the standard: a fresh juicing station, egg station, proper pastries and well-chosen local cheeses. The half-board is worth it. We also slept very well. Some honest improvement notes for this lovely family-run property to take it to 5 stars: - the rooms haven't kept pace with the public areas and the website imagery (and the artificial grass roof, not really nice to look at from the window.. why? 😄) - the pool was way too crowded and the website image shows much less recliner seats when the area was rather cramped at times especially on the weekend. - tea/coffee facilities and individual toiletries in the rooms would lift the experience (they only have a body wash in the shower - an opportunity to improve) - menus in English/German and dietary alternatives (vegetarians etc) would serve the international guests better - the pool bar closing at 18:00 on a warm summer evening, feels way too early but I saw the staff had to rush to the lobby bar (perhaps hire more?) - strength training options would complete the gym which currently has cardio only. - tvs didn’t have any working English channels and the ability to cast to the TV wasn’t properly advertised, perhaps add a proper TV smart guide? None of this took away from a wonderful stay and a birthday to remember. Thank you to the whole team, and especially the restaurant and bar team.
