The warm welcome and friendly service create a cozy atmosphere perfect for enjoying a variety of drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic), platters of all kinds (cured meats, cheeses), and dishes prepared with skill and generosity by the Chef, who, it's worth noting, takes equal care with both vegetarian and meat dishes. The shop is also worth a visit, both for its extensive wine cellar and its gourmet grocery items. And why not reserve a delicious raclette platter as the first chills of autumn arrive, bringing a little (healthy) joy and happiness home with you?! Book now, you won't regret it.

18/11/2025: My favorite restaurant in France, and goodness knows how many times I've eaten out! The two owners are wonderful, the menu changes every month, and if I could keep this place all to myself, I would without hesitation, but their professionalism and passion compel me to recommend them! It's simple: when I go, I order everything on the menu. Don't worry about the price; every euro spent here is the best investment you could ever make! 🫶

14/11/2025: One of the best places I've ever tried. The atmosphere and decor are really lovely, the waitresses are very welcoming and smiling, and they offer homemade dishes with fresh and flavorful ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves; it was exquisite. I highly recommend this place if you want to enjoy a delicious meal and eat THE real fish and chips.

08/12/2025: This Limoges restaurant is iconic, with a very varied menu and generous portions. The curry puff pastry with chicken and veal had a thick, salty sauce, but the portion was very generous. The puff pastry was high quality, and half the plate was filled with salad. The veal escalope with cream and mushrooms was a shame; they didn't ask customers for their desired weight. The fries were served generously. The dining room was noisy, and tables for two were very close together, but otherwise, it was very good.

07/12/2025: Villa Eugène offers an elegant setting where you can enjoy refined and inventive gourmet brasserie fare. The service is attentive and the dishes are generally sophisticated, perfect for dinner in Caen. A lovely place to treat yourself.

09/12/2025: Find the mistake in this unexpected encounter with excellence on December 3, 2025! It was in Charolles, at Chef Frédéric Doucet's gourmet restaurant. Venus, the goddess of love, was at the reception, her noble benevolence and delicate attentions permeating the entire staff, as well as Mr. Frédéric Doucet, the owner. We both felt as if we had suddenly entered another world. What a majestic welcome, devoid of any sentimentality, but woven with genuine goodwill and grace. Our entire evening, guided by Pénatés, was imbued with this professionalism, bordering on excellence, from the warm attitudes to the sincere smiles. We had chosen the menu entitled "In the Footsteps of Charolais Beef." We sat down to dinner around 8 pm and left shortly before Cinderella. We savored truly authentic ingredients and exceptional flavors that left a Milky Way of delights, surprises, and groans of gustatory pleasure in our mouths. The Greek poet Ovidius wrote, "Bacchus on Venus is like fire on fire!" From the amuse-bouche to dessert, it was like that, from flavor to flavor, from marvel to marvel, and on top of that, this discovery of the local terroir with its royal riches, the traditions of the Charolais region laid out before us with the Burgundian culinary culture as our tablecloth. My partner and I learned more about this region in one evening than in over a year of living here! All the servers deserve a special mention, with the sommelier being the highlight, perfectly pairing flavors on your palate. And what can be said about Chef Doucet and his team, who skillfully combine ingredients with exquisite taste and flair? Excellence here reaches the pinnacle of gastronomy! It must be shouted from the rooftops: this place of pleasure is a must-visit. It's like a beautiful love story, a complete epicurean fusion that transcends you, leaving you with an irresistible urge to savor it again and again. And when we're away from this table that unites tradition and innovation, we're overcome with longing. A love story, I tell you! We looked for a flaw in this restaurant, something amiss, and after four hours of pure enjoyment—visual, gustatory, and full of discoveries—we found nothing amiss! Oh, except for the church bell tower and its twelve strokes of midnight. I won't give you any details about this famous menu, because only you can form your own opinion. I, and we, can only recommend this place where happiness truly exists. In conclusion, it's up to you to find the flaw...

16/11/2025: We received a very warm welcome. The setting is lovely, the staff are very friendly and genuine without ever being pretentious. The chef is passionate and approachable. We chose the "Burgundy Immersion" menu with five varied, flavorful, and meticulously prepared courses that showcased the best of local cuisine. We felt truly pampered.

07/12/2025: Gathered as a family with our three children in a pleasant setting, we wanted to treat ourselves by ordering a variety of dishes to share. We pointed out that the tuna was tasteless and the John Dory was far too overcooked and dry, without any sauce. There was no consideration, no offer of compensation, and no attempt to make amends. We decided not to order dessert. To top it all off, we weren't even allowed to have seconds of our youngest son's meal... The value for money is poor. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Alain, the waiter, welcomed us with exceptional kindness, and the chef treated us to delicious cuisine made with homemade ingredients. A lovely place to stop. As former residents of Grenoble, we enjoyed the revisited gratin dauphinois.

We see that the owners are passionate and the cuisine is excellent (and that is an understatement), the service and wine advice are those of a passionate person, not to mention the place which has incredible charm. It was a favorite for us.

02/11/2025: The setting was lovely, the presentation very nice, and the food was delicious. However, we would have appreciated it if the server had suggested we order extra sides if we were still hungry, which we would have done. While the flavor was definitely there, the portions weren't quite enough to satisfy us. Considering this, it was a bit pricey. A shame. The staff was pleasant and efficient.

09/10/2025: We spontaneously asked for a table. Except for two tables, everything was empty. Nevertheless, we had to sit at a not-so-nice table, with the explanation that everything was reserved. This remained the case the entire evening. No other guests arrived. When we left at 8:30, other guests also spontaneously asked for a table (without a reservation), and lo and behold, they got the nice table up front that we wanted without any problems. The food was miserable, a disappointment. The waiter was incredibly rude. I've been to restaurants all over the world, but I've never seen such an unfriendly restaurant where people discriminate against you.
