What I'm making up for is that here, there are never any unpleasant surprises (except for arriving to find it full if you haven't taken the precaution of booking). The food is simple but always delicious, the atmosphere is friendly, and the staff are warm and attentive. Several times, I've tried other restaurants... and left thinking, "I should have gone to Les Halles!"

08/03/2026: What a delightful surprise this charming restaurant was, tucked away in a rather dreary cul-de-sac! The welcome is cheerful and warm, the decor a clever, slightly kitschy blend of seaside and mountain themes, and the lighting is perfectly balanced to allow you to admire what's arriving on your plate. The menu is extensive, inventive, and promising. This is confirmed when the dishes are served: everything is fresh, beautiful, flavorful, and served without delay. We enjoyed the langoustines and the confit lamb in a pastry crust, which we chose as starters (both generous portions), and then we savored the hake with sorrel and confit potatoes, as well as the fish quenelle with shellfish jus. The desserts are excellent, with a special mention for the caramelized apples and meringue, a reimagined version of the common floating island found elsewhere. Very reasonable prices again (76 euros for two, starter-main-dessert plus two half-pints of Leffe) when compared to what the other tourist trap restaurants in Villard dare to charge for over-prepared and soulless food. An original and welcoming place that makes you want to return very soon with friends! Thank you, Mr. Charentais. 😊

12/01/2026: What a delight this little restaurant is! Finally, something other than "mountain" fare. Everything was new to us: lamb confit with morels in a pastry crust, oysters and scallops with parsley sauce, suckling pig offal stew, Charentais-style chowder, mashed potatoes with cabbage... A true delight, and served with a smile, too! Good value for money. Highly recommended!

20/06/2026: Last night, Friday, June 19, 2026. We had the pleasure of dining at "Au Colombier" in Milly-la-Forêt, managed by Benjamin and Fabienne. We enjoyed a succulent foie gras and a burger on rösti, the roasted meat of which was a delight, and the fries were perfectly crispy without a trace of grease. On the terrace, we felt like we were on vacation, far from the hustle and bustle of Paris. The entire team is exceptionally welcoming. We look forward to returning very soon. Friend, Jean-Yves

23/10/2025: We stayed there as a school group during a stage of the Camino de Santiago. Everything was great: the service, the food, the very complete and generous breakfast, the staff. We found a lot of comfort and reassurance there. The staff gave us very pleasant feedback on the young people in the group, which also contributed to our spiritual comfort. Once again, a big thank you to our hosts.

Location not far from the center and shops, ideally located opposite the police station, perfect for bikers, who will be welcomed by an enthusiast... The kindness and help you gave us greatly helped us but above all touched us a lot. Rest well this winter and don't change anything for the 2026 season :-).

28/09/2025: We stayed in a superior caravan in mid-September. Very clean. Fully equipped, especially in the kitchen area. Located in an exceptionally quiet spot. In the evenings, we enjoyed sitting outside under the canopy. The only downside of this caravan, in my opinion, was the quality of the beds in the second bedroom. The quality in the "main" bedroom was good, though. The nearby beach is quiet but has sharp pebbles. There are many sandy beaches in the area, a short drive away.

21/04/2026: One of the best cafes in the 18th arrondissement, with very affordable prices! The terrace is quiet and sunny at lunchtime; I love going there for a coffee or a late-night drink without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it!

28/12/2025: I highly recommend this restaurant. We ordered takeaway menus for December 25th and we weren't disappointed from start to finish. Quality homemade products, generous portions per person, an incredible welcome and excellent service – it's rare these days to find such a good restaurant at a very affordable price, the menu at €35, so go for it without hesitation!

19/03/2026: Located in the heart of the village of Cormery, this little restaurant is charming. Tastefully decorated, I really enjoyed it. As for the food, I found the menu simple but effective. The waitresses are discreet and efficient! It was my first time at this place, and at first glance, I found the price a bit high for tagliatelle. But the quality and quantity are definitely there! The dish was more than enough to satisfy me! The ingredients are fresh and of good quality! My friend was delighted with his beef tartare; it was fresh, flavorful, and he also appreciated the fact that he could add whatever he wanted to it (a small side plate of garnishes). Homemade fries, fresh salad—nothing to complain about… A restaurant worth discovering, but remember to book! Well done to the team!
