22/01/2026: The best value for money in Tours. Excellent set lunch menu for €15 on weekdays. Good quality, well-presented, and generous portions. Top-notch service. Other options available. Craft beer for €4.90; you can even take away bottles with a "lemonade" style closure. Irish coffee for €7.50. The decor has a "school" feel, with several rooms, including one upstairs. Very clean establishment. I highly recommend it.

24/03/2026: Generous portions, quality meat. We came for the second seating on a Tuesday at lunchtime. There was only one waitress in the dining room, and she was constantly running around trying to serve all the customers...it was almost embarrassing; we wanted to help her out. How is it possible to leave her to work alone? Where is the owner of this restaurant?

22/03/2026: I've never received such a warm welcome in a restaurant, and I've been to quite a few! There were three of us, and we greatly appreciated the warm welcome and the kindness of the staff. We also had a wonderful meal! Thank you for this lovely experience.

04/02/2026: As regulars at the brasserie for several years now, we have our ritual: reserving a table (7), even if we sometimes end up seated elsewhere despite our best efforts. We eat quickly, given our work schedules. The dishes are varied and delicious. The staff is pleasant, despite the recent turnover of some long-standing members who were very much a part of the establishment and always satisfied customers. A special shout-out to the new cook who prepared this magnificent and beautifully presented kebab for us. Best of luck to everyone! 😉

16/01/2026: We had lunch at noon; the drinks service was very quick. However, the wait for our food order was too long. Once we ordered, the food was served fairly quickly. The Welsh rarebit was good, but the fries were too ordinary, which was a shame. The price was very reasonable.

04/12/2025: For almost 30 years, we've been going to Bords du Rhin regularly. Mainly for the fantastic pike-perch, which is simply something special at this restaurant. The Berna family has been serving guests for six generations, and it's a sight to behold as Monsieur Berna fillets the pike-perch. Among the appetizers, the duck liver, fish soup, and—if you'll excuse the pun—the frog legs are highly recommended. The wine list also offers very good, predominantly Alsatian wines at very reasonable prices. In general, the food is very affordable, which is why the restaurant is fully booked for both lunch and dinner. Therefore, a reservation is absolutely essential. If you've had a lovely evening here, and like us, had a rather long journey, an overnight stay at the hotel is advisable. By German standards, a rather simple French breakfast is offered the following day. But that shouldn't detract from the experience; after all, you're in France and eating there. You also meet many Germans here, because the hotel restaurant is located right next to the Kappel ferry. We will gladly visit Bords du Rhin again, also because of the lovely and warm hospitality of the Berna family and their team.
