11/12/2025: The warm welcome and genuine friendliness (they really wanted to please the customer) charmed us. You can feel the generosity in the service... The lunch menu was perfect, with a generous portion and homemade fries... The homemade floating islands were delicious and original, not to mention the enormous glass of excellent punch. 09/12/2025: Positive point: The food is quite good, but the price is rather high. You can easily find just as good or better elsewhere for less. Negative points: - When we (a couple) entered the restaurant, the owner immediately asked us where we were from. Looking at the reviews, one mentions that walk-in customers are treated worse than regulars, and I think there's some truth to that, having observed how the regular customers were treated. - French regulations are not being followed in several ways. There are no menus displayed outside, only a chalkboard inside. There's no drinks menu displayed either outside or inside. We were offered an aperitif and wine verbally without being shown the menu or given the prices. - The menu board inside offered mussels and fries (in season), which is what we wanted, but no mussels. Yet, mussel season on Oléron is from July to December; so we chose monkfish because we're not fans of burgers or fish and chips, but it was €9 more per dish than the mussels. - The bill of €110.70 for two people doesn't match the prices listed on the website, with a difference of €5, but since we weren't given a receipt or invoice, it was impossible to verify. You might ask: Why didn't you complain? Because for me, a restaurant is a place for socializing and relaxing, and I'm not going to waste my time complaining. It's up to the staff or owner to make suggestions to satisfy the customers, and that clearly wasn't the case here. A shame.

26/01/2025: Carbonara pasta is not really real carbonara. There were three of us who took it and were all disappointed. On the other hand, the ravioli were good. There are better Italians in Caen in my opinion. Pleasant service on the other hand!

Attentive and humorous service, and the food...oh, the food...perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Cooking and seasoning are expertly executed, a feast for the eyes and the palate! Looking forward to returning to this charming place very soon!

09/11/2025: Quiet and close to the center, decent food but a very limited menu and portions. The service was horribly slow… 1 hour and 45 minutes for 4 appetizers and 4 main courses! There was clearly a cook or server missing, but no explanation or apology was offered… the same for the tables of the people next to us. Therefore, not recommended.

19/06/2025: I'm going back again, as soon as I can! Usually, we don't return to the same place, just to discover new flavors. But since we all loved it, we came back! Always a warm welcome, good service, and good food! We recommend following your inspiration because there's something for everyone! There's a disabled parking space in front of the restaurant entrance. You must make a reservation and allow enough time to enjoy the food (2.5 hours for us).

06/07/2025: Chez Ginette is a picturesque cafe located on the corner of Montmartre towards the Sacré-Coeur. I stopped by during a stroll, and the avocado toast here was unforgettably delicious! I sat at a small round table on the terrace, typical of Paris, and ordered avocado toast. What was brought to me was a beautiful dish of toasted bread topped with plenty of bright green avocado. The balance of creamy and fresh avocado, slightly sour dressing, and crispy bread was exquisite! The simple dish allowed the quality of the ingredients and careful workmanship to shine. I enjoyed the avocado toast with delicious coffee while watching the people passing by and the typical Montmartre buildings. It was a rich and fulfilling time, as if I had blended into everyday Paris. The warm atmosphere, which seems to be loved not only by tourists but also by locals, was very comfortable. If you're looking for a delicious brunch or light lunch in Montmartre, Chez Ginette is one of your best options.

18/09/2024: Hey guys! "The best burgers in the world" in the commentary, that always makes me skeptical. Nevertheless, we went to this burger bar and tried four different burgers, three traditional, one with chicken. All were fantastic, cleverly combined with the best ingredients. The buns yielded slightly when pressed and recovered immediately. The best meat, perfectly on point. And an innkeeper who runs his bar in a friendly manner with wit and humor. If you still need dessert, you've brought a hell of a lot of hunger with you. Or you can stick to the digestive, the Calvados.
