The setting is traditional, the service impeccable, and the entire menu reflects genuine research and creativity in the kitchen. The dishes flow seamlessly, blending technical skill with aesthetic appeal. There's a clear desire to elevate the ingredients and offer a truly refined culinary experience. In this respect, the restaurant certainly lives up to its reputation. However, a notable disappointment mars the overall experience: the truffle, which is central to the restaurant's identity. Expected to be the star ingredient, it is surprisingly understated, almost invisible. Its aroma, usually so captivating, struggles to express itself, leaving an impression of blandness that contrasts sharply with the expectations raised by the restaurant's reputation. This discrepancy is all the more striking given that everything else is so well executed. The overall impression is one of mixed feelings, between admiration for the overall craftsmanship and frustration with an iconic product that doesn't quite live up to its promises. An overall high-quality experience, but one that raises questions about the consistency and effective use of its signature ingredient.

24/03/2026: Very disappointed with our experience at Bruno's. We are used to Michelin-starred restaurants. But tonight, we were astonished to find none of the standards and expectations of fine dining… We started our meal with a piece of glass in one of the amuse-bouches… This was pointed out, but elicited virtually no reaction from the staff, not even an apology. Surprising for a restaurant of this caliber… This might have been overlooked if we hadn't been dealing with an unpleasant, unfriendly, and sometimes even haughty waitress throughout the entire meal. The only positive point: the sommelier, who was very professional and pleasant!

Warm, attentive, and professional, each server contributed to making the experience even more memorable. Flawless from beginning to end. A magnificent place that I recommend without the slightest hesitation.

12/04/2026: Excellent restaurant. For lunch. Pleasant welcome. Quick and friendly service (we were there at the beginning of service). The dining room fills up quite quickly after opening. At the same time, it's easy to see why, given the truly delicious meal at a very reasonable price. The only downside, but the owner can't do anything about it, is that the dining room gets a bit noisy when it's full. In short, a restaurant I highly recommend. Thank you.

26/04/2026: A neighborhood restaurant I used to enjoy returning to. The service was less friendly than on previous visits, and the meal was okay, but I had better memories. As for desserts, the crème brûlée was good and generous; however, they lacked the famous pure chocolate fondant (they have a peanut version that doesn't suit my taste). I think we just happened to go on an evening that wasn't typical of the restaurant. I would still recommend it.

26/04/2026: The restaurant is well located. We received a very warm welcome, the portions were generous, and the food was good, made with fresh ingredients. It's a shame we weren't hungry enough for dessert. But we'll definitely be back!

01/04/2026: An exceptional place. It has a terrace on a quiet pedestrian street, ideal for stopping for a glass of wine with truffle-flavored cheese fries. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and there's live music which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

30/03/2026: A €45/person disappointment First and last visit. I ate at this restaurant for a birthday: bad idea. Upon arrival, the group was split across three separate tables, which immediately ruined the convivial atmosphere of a celebratory meal. But at €45 per person for the set menu, one has the right to expect a minimum level of quality and attention. This was not the case. The service: slow, inattentive. No steak knives. You have to ask for them, and they're just tossed into the middle of the table. The wine list: reduced to the bare minimum, low-end, and for white wine… only dry white. 😅 The choice of dishes: three very basic options… (chicken and fries, sirloin steak and fries, tagliatelle with prawns) and not exceptional in terms of taste. ⚠️ Bottled water was placed on the tables for a fee, without any carafes being offered. A classic example of discreet billing… And to finish: the “birthday dessert.” A plate of frozen macarons, financiers, and… canelés. Honestly, make an effort! 😟 Not to mention the music playing downstairs while the music upstairs was still on: inaudible to everyone. I’ve eaten much better, and much cheaper, in many places in Bordeaux. Bordeaux has too much to offer to stop here.

20/04/2026: This isn't my first time, but this time I just had to leave a review! A perfect meal: an original starter, a generous main course (John Dory) with a variety of colorful accompaniments, and above all, an extraordinary dessert (a sweet autumn treat). A truly great chef. And the staff was very pleasant to boot.

27/04/2026: Here's a lovely story from my time at La Baratte this winter… After a bike ride near the Semnoz pass, in the cold and dark, I decided to stop a little earlier than planned in front of the restaurant, which was under renovation. To warm up, I discreetly settled down in the back while waiting for a friend to pick me up. That's when the owners surprised me… and invited me in to warm up. A wool blanket, some long conversations, and a complimentary local beer later: that's what I call true hospitality. I invite you to come and sit down and share a moment with this warm-hearted team.
