I wanted to take my 3-year-old to the restroom at the end of the meal, but I was refused entry because I didn't have 0.5 cents to pay for toilet access… I had to leave the restaurant to find a public restroom. Absolutely unbelievable! And we had already spent a lot, including on drinks…

And we were right. This first experience wasn't just a fluke; this establishment consistently delivers top-notch service. 30/04/2026: I'm sorry for this review, but I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. Despite being a big fan of Middle Eastern pastries, I was very unconvinced by the quality of the baklava and gazelle horns I bought. Between the kebab-box-style packaging, the dryness of the horns, and the sickening amount of glucose syrup in the baklava (which is made without filo pastry, so it's completely uncrispy), I can't find anything redeeming. Not even the price: €24 for eight small pastries. The place is nice, but it's not what I'm looking for.

19/04/2026: Instead of the booked 20 m² suite with a view of the mountains, we got a 9 m² room in the attic with a skylight and a view of another roof. The furniture was worn out, the refrigerator was on the ground. The administrator gave us the keys and went home. We didn't get dinner, we didn't get breakfast either with us or on site. We didn't get our money back for the room and breakfast we paid in advance. Parking is 2 blocks away, although you can park your car right on the street. The SPA is an old dusty jacuzzi, standing on an open balcony in a side street between houses. We didn't get the bill either. The hotel doesn't respond to emails, doesn't communicate through Booking. Most of the photos in the profile are not from this hotel. A complete fake. Be careful - payment only in advance, the establishment does not refund money.

18/04/2026: We went there for a meal and received a very warm welcome! The setting, both inside and out, is very charming and pleasant, the cuisine is refined and delicious, good value for money, and the establishment is very clean. We'll definitely be back!

16/07/2026: Don't leave Vesoul without trying one of the chef's specialties: bursting andouillette sausage with cancoillotte cheese. We also tried the dessert of the day: a confit tomato and rhubarb tart; the discussion with the chef about this dessert and ways to improve it was very pleasant!

06/06/2026: The wait between the hot drinks and the food was far too long. By the time the crepes and waffles finally arrived, we'd finished our drinks ages ago. The experience was ruined. Especially since the crepes and waffles were tasteless and cold. I don't think they were homemade. Bad experience.

14/05/2026: Whatever the reasons, it's not the customers who should suffer from your terrible organization and terrible service... 25-minute wait before our order was even taken. 60-minute wait before we could eat two (fairly good) flammekueche. Table not cleaned between customers. Waitress walking back and forth... with empty hands. Side salad: processed ingredients and pre-made dressing. Avoid at all costs!

28/02/2026: Hello, we chose the €31 set menu with foie gras and chicken in a pot. The foie gras was of poor quality, probably a budget option. As for the chicken in a pot, it wasn't a real chicken in a pot at all, but rather a chicken boiled in a pot of water. It had no flavor and lacked tomato sauce. 🍅... It's a shame that the restaurant Chez Oliver next door is closed, or perhaps the former owners of the Henri IV could show them how to make it properly. Unfortunately, there are very few restaurants left where you can enjoy a good chicken in a pot, and you have to go a bit further from the château. The dessert was satisfactory.

03/07/2026: Delicious, typical Alsatian food can only be found here! Everything is so tasty 😋. A lot of things in the dining room were recently freshened up, so the atmosphere is wonderful, fresh, and authentic. I'll definitely be back.
