31/07/2026: I recommend it... warm welcome... fast service

31/07/2026: Lunch had started off well enough with my colleagues… The drinks arrived quickly, then we waited 25 minutes before we could finally order. And then, a general surprise: there were only two dishes left on the menu (Caesar salad or carpaccio), “a problem with supplies.” Clearly, they preferred to make us wait rather than inform us when we arrived. The dishes eventually arrived. The Caesar salad looked more like a green salad with three pieces of chicken, a little corn, a few tomatoes… and no dressing. We had to ask for it, and finally received a simple vinaigrette. Not an apology, not a gesture of goodwill, and a waiter who had suddenly vanished. The best was yet to come: a few minutes later, the table next to us was offered chicken skewers. Common sense had clearly left the restaurant before we had. €140 spent, a hefty bill, and a rather bland experience, but at least my colleagues had a good laugh. It's a shame that the only really substantial dish was the apology menu… which, too, was sold out.

20/07/2026: First Timers at Sofitel and Loved it! This was our first trip to Europe, first time to Paris, and first time at a Sofitel - And, wow, it was GREAT! Despite being a smaller hotel, we decided to give Sofitel Baltimore a try for its “boutique” Parisian vibe… and it was perfect. Location, aesthetic, French hospitality - expectations were exceeded. We were so grateful to be upgraded to a balcony room. MANY thanks to Yusuf and Clement from the front desk guest services for their EXCEPTIONAL attitude and standard of service! Doormen and porters were also highly professional. We don’t usually deviate from Marriott, but on this occasion those gentlemen in particular converted us. Our only complaint would be that carpets in the room could use a deep clean. However, We are already looking forward to our next stay in Paris being at a SOFITEL.

08/07/2026: This is an exceptional hotel in Paris! The staff are all very welcoming, the rooms well decorated with the most comfortable bedding/pillows you can ask for, and a concierge who is willing to go above and beyond to make your experience unforgettable. Enzo at the bar is a true gem, chatting with him while watching football in the evenings after a day of exploring Paris was always a treat- he goes above and beyond to make sure everyone at his bar is comfortable and enjoying.

06/10/2026: The setting on the terrace is pleasant, and the welcome was friendly. For starters, we had burrata on ratatouille with pesto and balsamic glaze: a lovely presentation. The salmon steak with its creamy sauce and grilled vegetables was cooked well, but a little dry. To finish, a decent crème brûlée with a beautiful caramelized crust. The prices are reasonable, but overall, the experience lacks a certain something. It's a good option if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go back immediately. A major plus: the staff is smiling, friendly, and attentive from start to finish, which makes the meal truly enjoyable.

07/09/2026: Very disappointed with the service. The food was relatively good, but the portions weren't equal at all. A shame, it's a nice place.

09/09/2026: A true institution of Marseilles bouillabaisse

08/09/2026: A decent restaurant with good, if not overpriced bouillabaisse, only serves 2 but still far too much food for us. They serve a bowl of the broth before they bring you the full meal after showing the seafood they will cook in it. The broth is delicious and you can tell there is experience and culinary skills that go into making it. We paired it with a nice white cote du rhone. Service was ok but less that the standard we’d expect at 80 euros per person. Not much of a view either (it’s not harbor side) the seats are uncomfortable and the lighting bright and intrusive. I wouldn’t go back, but it was a decent experience once.

16/05/2026: At the entrance to Périgueux, a verdant oasis with a very large pond. Peaceful yet only 5 minutes from the major shopping centers. Spacious room with a superb view of the pond and park, lovely staff. Restaurant by the water. Don't hesitate!

03/05/2026: We only ate here. The food was very tasty, but the service was very tense. This created a bad atmosphere throughout the room. Also, the acoustics were so bad that it was very loud.

12/04/2026: For the past eight years, my dance association and I have visited a different city in France each year for events, and this is the first time we've received such a warm welcome. With around fifty people needing accommodation for the weekend, Daniel and his team were incredibly welcoming and accommodating. It's clear he loves his work. The rooms are spacious and clean. We also thoroughly enjoyed the homemade dishes at the hotel restaurant. A HUGE thank you! See you next year!

12/09/2026: First, you have to wait in line for quite a while... Then, the ice cream selection is rather limited, but why not, if they're good... And speaking of which, the raspberry is very disappointing, grainy texture and a slightly artificial taste, the vanilla/fudge is okay, and the Madagascar vanilla (I think) is quite ordinary. Three scoops for €10, and not even a little chair to sit on outside... And if you sit inside, there's a €2 surcharge!!!! Finally, the staff are stressed and very unfriendly. Far from worth the trip. A 'hip' place, but the quality isn't there... Those who say the ice cream is excellent, even among the best in Paris, have clearly never been to Île Saint-Louis 😉😉

11/09/2026: I don't usually leave reviews, but after tonight's experience, I feel compelled to. The bouncer in charge of security at the shop is appalling and seems to relish harassing young women. There are ways to say things, and his is definitely not the right one. Inappropriate language, aggressive tone. And he acts surprised when we dare to answer him back because apparently he has a monopoly on what can and cannot be said. Yes, sir, if you speak to us rudely, we will tell you so. This isn't the schoolyard, and you're not our school counselor. Find another line of work. I will never set foot in this place again.

24/08/2026: A great find! The restaurant is beautifully decorated. The staff is attentive and very friendly. The food is excellent. There was pleasant background music as someone was singing, and it was easy to chat with other diners. The prices are reasonable.

12/08/2026: In freefall! The dishes used to be delicious and sophisticated: that's no longer the case! For example, the Octopus Verdure: an impressive quantity of chickpeas but hardly any octopus... The staff used to be attentive, friendly, and professional: that's no longer the case! For example, serving white wine instead of white port, not acknowledging the mistake, and offering absolutely no apology... Unacceptable! And the term "Champagne" is still being used fraudulently on the wine list... A swift intervention by management is necessary if you don't want to disappear...
