24/02/2026: Fantastic experience at this restaurant! From the moment we arrived, we received a warm welcome from the owner, who is truly friendly, professional, and attentive to his customers. You can tell he loves his work and wants everyone to have a wonderful time. A huge congratulations also to the chef, who does a remarkable job. The dishes are prepared with care, generous portions, and bursting with flavor. You can taste the passion and expertise in every plate. The food is simply delicious: fresh ingredients, beautiful presentation, and perfectly balanced flavors. From the appetizer to the main course to the dessert, everything was excellent. A truly wonderful place that I recommend without hesitation. We will definitely be back!

16/02/2026: It had been a while since we'd dined at L'Escalumade, and we were surprised by a head chef who was extremely rude to his waitress, who, still learning the ropes, had just made a minor mistake. We, the customers, witnessed his disrespect. Beyond being incredibly unpleasant to the front-of-house staff, this gentleman risks driving customers away. We thank Micka and Célia, who took excellent care of us and ensured we had a pleasant experience. Keep up the good work!

08/12/2025: A belated review but one that I wanted to make after having an amazing family meal here in the summer. Starting with the food and wine, it is a simple concept but executed extremely well. Everything - the pate, steak, frites - was superb and relatively good value. The red wine (they measure how many quarts you've had and charge you at the end of the meal) was also excellent. Great atmosphere and friendly staff who indulged our poor attempts at French and all spoke English anyway. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good restaurent concept that is executed extremely well.

19/02/2026: Upon arrival, the waitress was alone in the establishment. I asked her if she made crêpes, and she replied, "Yes." We ordered two crêpes. After placing our order, I headed towards the restroom, and as I passed, I noticed the waitress taking two pre-made crêpes out of a pile hidden under a napkin. The two crêpes, warmed up (in the microwave or on a griddle, I don't know), were served to us. Unsurprisingly, the batter was dry, making for a very enjoyable snack. €5 for a simple crêpe, pre-made and simply reheated—not great. A real shame for this establishment, which is well-known to the people of Nîmes.
