Beautifully cooked dishes, quality ingredients, impeccable hygiene, visually stunning presentation, and perfect flavors! We highly recommend it! Don't be put off by the location or the storefront. 08/07/2026: Passing through Saint-Christol, we booked a table for our first evening because Andali was the only restaurant open on a Monday. It was truly a wonderful discovery. A warm and welcoming reception, followed by helpful advice on wine and dishes. The dishes were beautifully presented, worthy of a semi-gastronomic restaurant, and absolutely delicious. Love was evident in every bite, and we were even offered an amuse-bouche while we waited. Our hosts also told us about their region and guided us in our exploration. We were so warmly welcomed that we decided to return the next day for our wedding anniversary. And there, we received thoughtful touches that truly came from the heart: bread presented in a heart-shaped ramekin, candles on our desserts, and to top it all off, we left with a gift. This is definitely a place not to be missed and deserves to be known and appreciated. A huge thank you to Angelique and David, who are so passionate about their work.

13/07/2026: Passing through Provins, we had a very pleasant time at L'Hostellerie de la Croix d'Or. The telephone contact was pleasant, as was the welcome upon arrival. The service was impeccable. The kidneys were perfectly pink, the fish ideally cooked, and the sauces were flawless. Even the dessert was delightful. All this in a truly authentic setting.

28/06/2026: Excellent restaurant serving lightened-up traditional cuisine. The chef is truly welcoming. It's a welcome change from the "young" chefs with their set menus offering no choices...

19/07/2026: The staff member insisted I pay in cash, claiming they don't accept card payments for orders under 6 euros. When I asked for the menu and said I wanted to order more, they sighed and shoved a tip screen in my face that said "Good, Great, Outstanding." Shouldn't they have informed me in advance that card payments under 6 euros weren't accepted? This is the first time I've seen a French café pressured for a tip like this while I was having a drink. They claimed that showing the tip screen like that is coercion, but I wasn't coercing them? I was dumbfounded. I hope they manage to get rich after barely managing to get a 10 percent tip like that. It's their loss anyway if they continue to provide service like that. I ordered a drink and was so disgusted that I drank it quickly and left within 20 minutes. It was Sunday and there were plenty of empty tables, but I have to admit they have the ability to kick customers out. Also, whether it's a Chai Latte or a Chai Tea Latte, the staff should just listen and order; instead, they pointed out that I said the menu item incorrectly. What a strange staff member... I hope others don't go here. Even one star is too generous.

15/07/2026: Authentic French bistro in a very nice area, a little bit away from the big boulevards. Great drinks and good food at an acceptable price. The restaurant's guests are mainly French, and it gives a feeling of being authentic.

28/07/2026: A great place to eat in Saint-Étienne is La Java Bleue! The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Meat lovers take note: the way you order is cooked, and that's a rare quality these days. I highly recommend it for a meal with friends or family!

I've been back several times now, and I'm always just as satisfied, whether it's the quality of the service, the food, or the atmosphere. That's why I recommend it without hesitation. The meat is delicious, tender, and perfectly cooked. As for the fries, they are simply excellent: flavorful, crispy, and homemade, which is a real plus. A great place that you'll always enjoy returning to!

09/06/2026: Unfortunately, my experience was very short. I had booked a table for eight people on the website. I received confirmation by email and text message, and a reminder the day before. Upon arrival, we were told that the online booking system wasn't working and that it had been like this for two years. There was a sign on the front door stating that online reservations weren't working. But how are we supposed to know that if we don't know the restaurant? And why not update the website (it's been like this for two years!) or at least mention it there? That day, there were no more tables available. So we left…

23/07/2026: Amazing service from start to finish! The owner was absolutely wonderful and went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 12. What really stood out was that he took the time to get to know us personally instead of just treating us like another table. The most touching moment was when he made an effort to learn and use a few sign language signs to communicate with my son, who is hard of hearing. That kindness and genuine interest meant the world to our family. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the level of hospitality was truly exceptional. We left feeling like honored guests rather than customers. Highly recommend this restaurant, and we will definitely be back!
