14/04/2026: Go without hesitation, the fondue (royal for us) is excellent and made in the purest Savoyard tradition. The waiter (who is also the owner) and his partner (who cooks) are warm, smiling, and friendly people. From the "mountain" ambiance to the drinks and dessert, everything was perfect for us.

A small menu, just the way we like it, with tasty, fresh, and beautifully presented dishes. The suggested wine was delicious. A three-course meal for €25 on a Friday night is a no-brainer, and we highly recommend this great place.

02/05/2026: Overall, a good restaurant! However, be careful when paying the bill. During our visit, we were overcharged by €10 per person without realizing it at the time. We had to return the next day to point out the error. At first, we were told that an immediate refund wasn't possible and that we would have to come back at 6 pm. After insisting a bit, we finally received a refund of the €80 difference.

09/04/2026: The set menu offered excellent value for money at €18 for a starter/main course/dessert, featuring fresh and balanced ingredients. Easy street parking with two hours free. I would gladly return on my next trip to the area!

23/03/2026: My wife and I spent four months in Nice and we made Le Bistro de Gillou a regular in our rotation. There was always good variety to the menu on the board and the food was delicious. It’s a family run restaurant. The chef produced quality dishes every time that didn’t disappoint. The wife/server is friendly and was so patient with our struggling French.

13/02/2026: The Val d'Auge is an exceptional address thanks to its inventive cuisine that knows how to enhance quality, seasonal ingredients. Signature dishes such as the egg cocotte with truffles and the sweetbreads with charlotte purée are excellent, and the chef updates the menu according to the seasons and his inspiration. The service is efficient and attentive, and knows how to adapt to customers' tastes, particularly when it comes to wine. The evolving menu allows for constant discovery of new dishes. We'll be back.

25/04/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance and had a wonderful time. The terrace is fantastic, with grass and a playground for children nearby. The menu is well-thought-out, the food is delicious and generous, and the welcome was friendly. In short, a great place to relax and enjoy the view and the sunshine. And to top it all off, I had a super tasty honey-meal cocktail! Thank you!
