21/11/2025: Everything is perfect! A weekend in a relaxed atmosphere...a glass of Beaujolais Nouveau accompanied by brandade de morue...it's soothing 😊

21/11/2025: A friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The salt cod brandade and the desserts were delicious. The Beaujolais Nouveau was excellent. A warm setting, very friendly staff. Always a pleasure to spend an evening at Ô Pères Peinards.

17/08/2025: We spent about 100 euros for two people. Invited by friends, we were quite disappointed with the quality and service, especially considering the prices. Let me explain: two beef fillets were 36 euros each, and two desserts were 15 euros each—nothing fancy. Yes, it was good, but far too expensive for what you get. I'm being honest, but as you can see in the photo, it was a bit messy and nowhere near as good as fine dining for the same price.

14/08/2025: A wonderful discovery thanks to a gift certificate! We chose the four-course menu and everything was delicious, from the amuse-bouche to the dessert. The place is calm and pleasant. Special mention to the service: Sandra and the young waiter were lovely, attentive, and very professional. We highly recommend it and can't wait to discover the new location!

17/12/2025: What a wonderful discovery this restaurant was! The cuisine was authentic, the owner jovial and friendly, and the waitress attentive and caring. A special shout-out to the chef, who was passionate and very kind. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. I'll definitely be back on my next motorcycle trip in the area!

28/10/2025: The overall experience was very disappointing. Between a charcuterie board of very poor quality and an exorbitant charge for simple sparkling water (Sodastream) and bread at the end of service, the value for money was absolutely not there.

08/01/2026: First of all, I want to make it clear that this review was not written under duress. More seriously, after spending four weeks in Fougères, and being originally from the south of France, I'm delighted to finally discover that not all the restaurants in Fougères are so mediocre. Let me explain: on the recommendation of my client, I discovered this bistro which offers everything that makes a good restaurant: a small but well-balanced menu, the best ingredients showcased by expertly prepared dishes, a warm welcome from the team—the owner and his waitress—all in a stylish and pleasant setting. Luckily, I'm returning for another two weeks, and this will definitely be my new go-to spot. I highly recommend it!

17/01/2026: AVOID AT ALL COSTS for people with reduced mobility. Here's what happened at lunchtime today. I had booked a table for two. The person who greeted us offered us two snack tables with high chairs. However, this wasn't possible because my partner has reduced mobility and is unable to sit in such chairs. He would have fallen for sure! They couldn't offer us a regular table. My partner told him he wasn't being accommodating and left the restaurant... the "unpleasant restaurant owner/waiter" retorted that I should have mentioned it when making the reservation (so it's my fault!!!) and felt that my partner had no right to speak to him... not only is he unpleasant, but he's also touchy (the waiter, of course!). I replied that I didn't know I had to specify on the reservation that I wanted a "regular" table... and that as a restaurant owner, he didn't do anything for people with reduced mobility. Somewhat annoyed, I told him to cancel the reservation. I left the restaurant and forgot to close the door...and then—in the parking lot—I was insulted by this extremely unpleasant and unhelpful restaurant owner (or waiter???). A group was waiting outside and witnessed the scene. So, we went to Augustin's table where we had a very good meal. One thing is for sure: we won't be going back to Barbak.

17/01/2026: An establishment that knows how to welcome guests in every way... Very good service, impeccable cuisine. For meat and spirits lovers: an interesting selection with wonderful flavors...

01/03/2026: We came to lunch at the restaurant twice this week. Everything is perfect: the view, the service, the taste, the quality of the food. It's one of the best fondues we've ever had. The staff is extremely welcoming and pleasant, even when some tourists think they can get away with anything as long as they pay. I really enjoyed seeing the grandparents still working at the establishment; you can feel a very strong family spirit at Les Sapins, and it's very warm and welcoming. Best of luck, and see you next year!

28/02/2026: We came for a family breakfast, and the buffet was plentiful with high-quality products that we thoroughly enjoyed! The staff were very attentive, and the terrace at the foot of the slopes is exceptional.

03/03/2026: Escaped the work cafeteria and struck gold here. The escargot was fantastic (apparently I’ve been farming these slimy dudes in my yard for years -for free). I also ordered the “boiled beef”—a name that suggests pale bones in a peasant’s pot. In reality? A rich, delicious stewed beef dish. -needs a re-name to “Stewed beef” It came with au gratin potatoes—where I’m from we call them “funeral potatoes” because someone always brings a pan to the funeral luncheon Highly recommend this place - waitress was super cool and friendly (spoke many languages - French, Italian, Spanish, English)

15/03/2026: Great bar at the end of the slopes! I haven't eaten there, but I've often had drinks after skiing, and it's so pleasant to enjoy the last rays of sunshine! The staff are always very friendly and efficient! There's never been a wait to take our orders, even though our tables were forming as we went.

01/03/2026: We arrived late in the evening at a restaurant that didn't look like much from the outside but exuded a real warmth. We asked if they were still serving, and the owner greeted us with a big smile and rare kindness. She's both the owner and the cook—funny, down-to-earth, radiant… a true ray of sunshine. The dishes are entirely homemade, simple yet very satisfying, and offer excellent value for money. A very pleasant surprise, the kind you rarely encounter. I'll definitely be back.

14/02/2026: Friendly and attentive staff. Excellent cuisine. The beef is a real treat. The desserts are homemade and very generous. Warm atmosphere. A tip: book ahead to be sure of getting a table. I highly recommend this place.

06/03/2026: We received the gift box for Christmas, the restaurant was indeed on the list, and surprise... nope, they don't accept them. It's true we hadn't mentioned it when we made the reservation... Still, it was a real letdown when we arrived! I felt it was false advertising and high-pressure sales tactics! The restaurant owner explained that it wasn't his fault, that he was asking us to remove them from the list... In short, the customer is held hostage by the situation! So we left to eat somewhere else and won't be back.

19/01/2026: A must-visit if you're in the area... A warm and genuine welcome... Delicious yet light cuisine... We had the grilled cuttlefish and the shrimp stir-fry with noodles and crisp vegetables—a real treat! For dessert, I recommend the sharing platter...pure bliss! The setting is cozy with beautiful placemats, a comforting atmosphere, just like the dishes served with a smile... In short, you get the picture, we'll be back...a truly excellent place...thank you!

22/02/2026: The food was excellent and beautifully presented; the plates were artfully arranged and colorful, a feast for the eyes. The manager is very friendly. Everything is locally sourced. One small drawback: we didn't know how much we would pay until we got to the register because there was no menu. My husband was disappointed that there were no meat options (but I think this restaurant is actually vegetarian-only).

20/09/2025: We came this weekend to enjoy the last moments of good weather. This crêperie was just perfect. The waitress was smiling, the crêpes were delicious and generous. The service was fast. If you want interesting formulas at any time, go there with your eyes closed! We will definitely come back 😋
