09/10/2026: A recommended stop at this bar-restaurant opposite the church, serving quality French cuisine with a set menu and homemade desserts. The fig mousse is a delight! Efficient and professional service. Reservations recommended. And well worth the detour.

28/09/2026: I thought the local working-class restaurant was practically extinct, but La Première Ligne proved me wrong and brought back a concept I'd forgotten! The concept of a good, hearty, well-prepared set menu... with a starter, main course, cheese, dessert... wine... coffee...! All for €17.50!! And we're talking about a good meal, not some cheap and/or bad stuff!! Plus, the construction workers behind the bar and all the atmosphere that goes with it. Honestly, thank you, well done, and keep it up!!!!! FANTASTIC. If I'm ever back, I'll stop by again! PS: To respond to another review, which was based solely on the dog refusal and not on the restaurant itself, objectively, your disappointment shouldn't have influenced your rating.

27/09/2026: Fantastic experience. Just a 1-minute walk from our rental. Very family-friendly. A lovely, down-to-earth lady runs it. My 2-year-old daughter loved it... the pizzas were really delicious... The decor is reminiscent of a flea market; you can find all sorts of things, but it's super cute. We ate on the very pleasant terrace. If you're in the area, go there; you won't be disappointed. Plus, it's great value for money. I highly recommend it. Thank you!

25/09/2026: Review ending September 2026. Downgraded by two stars. (Luckily, I'm not a Michelin-starred chef!) The setting is very nice, in the center of Givet near the Meuse River... The service is almost impeccable, as there are better options, and the impression is that you have to eat quickly, whereas we were taking our time. It wasn't packed, so we weren't disrupting the business or the other diners since the seats were half empty. The disaster is the food. Outrageous prices compared to the mediocre quality. We ordered a simple vol-au-vent, and yet the presentation was grandiose, even without Céline Dion singing. The taste and cooking were deplorable. I had the simplest starter at €16 or €17 for two croquettes with Orval cheese or Orval beer... in short, I didn't notice the difference. At that price, it's 200% overrated. House wine and beer remain reasonably priced. One more thing... used to foreigners, even Belgians, we remind you that tap water is customary in France. In short, we drank well, ate poorly, but paid a lot for low-quality food.

14/09/2026: The waiters ignored us, walking past us several times. After 15 minutes, someone finally came and took our order, looking rather grumpy. Another 10 minutes later, we still hadn't received our drinks. Other guests were being served in the meantime…very disappointing.

06/07/2026: A true Toulouse institution! Refined, delicious, and subtly nuanced cuisine. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking to spend a wonderful time in a beautiful setting, with service that is both professional and friendly.

06/07/2026: Service is excellent. Often, restaurants like Bibent have staff who are but civil. Dare I say the staff we interacted with were nice with maybe a tinge of warmth. Of the cassoulet we've tried during our two weeks in Occitanie, this was the best in terms of flavor. Perhaps the duck fat to meat ratio was higher than others we've eaten, but overall this has been our favorite. We were finally able to try a Fronton wine, and I am so happy to report that this restaurant knows how to store wine. It was served at the perfect (appropriate) temperature, and was very enjoyable. One small niggle is that not all the teas are Mariage Frères as listed on the menu. At least some are Damman Frères. Sort of false advertising if you have discriminating tea tastes! All in all, the restaurant is one we would happily return to for a nice meal. Recommended.

We had planned a family gathering before our children's wedding and were very impressed by the communication leading up to the event, the organization on the day itself, and the delicious food, worthy of a fine restaurant. The location is calm and peaceful, ideal for relaxation, with a magnificent, expansive garden and an extraordinary swimming pool. A true haven of luxury and serenity.
