28/03/2026: A wonderful discovery! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The carrot soup was truly excellent, topped with a touch of savory whipped cream and spices—simple yet beautifully executed, original, and flavorful. The dishes were as beautiful as they were delicious, a real treat. The welcome and service were also top-notch, making the experience even more enjoyable. We will definitely return as soon as we're in the area again!

25/07/2026: I don't usually post reviews, but this time I felt compelled to share my experience. I went there with friends; we've rarely eaten so well. From the appetizer to the dessert, everything was perfectly executed. Truly, hats off to the chef. The old-fashioned decor is really charming, and the atmosphere is calm and very pleasant. In short, a very good restaurant; I highly recommend it. We'll be back!

17/05/2026: I ate there on May 17, 2026, at lunchtime and was honestly very disappointed. We waited an hour for our meal. The flank steak, ordered rare, arrived on my plate medium-rare and really small. The potato fritters were microwaved. The fries smelled of used oil; you could taste it. Unfortunately, the cook is really not up to scratch. Even the pie was reheated the same way. Ugh. A €30 set menu that was only worth €10. Luckily, the green salad filled the plate. The cook is a microwave master. In short, it wasn't good at all. Luckily, the waitress was nice. I don't recommend it.

11/07/2026: Following some recommendations, we booked a table for a fondue. The lady who runs the place was very kind and helpful! The fondue was absolutely delicious, better than those in the surrounding restaurants. We'll definitely be back!

22/06/2026: On the recommendation of locals, we had dinner at this café/tabac. We've never eaten such a delicious fondue, despite the heatwave! Josette is incredibly kind and attentive, and the place is a must-visit in Albiez-Montrond.

23/07/2026: The bar is really cool because it's very open, open in the sense that access to the terrace or the dock is continuous, you can sit wherever you like, there are lots of different seating options (chairs, armchairs, sofas, benches, etc.), there's plenty of space and when it's full you can always find somewhere else to sit. In short, the place is very cool.

26/07/2026: To start with the positives, the food was very good, the value for money was excellent, around €35 ​​per set menu is perfectly acceptable, and as regulars of the restaurant for several years, I can't say I was disappointed in that regard. However, our visit this year was very negatively affected by the excessive wait between courses. Having arrived at 8 pm, we had to be patient until around 10 pm to even see our main courses. It's long, really very long, and it was much harder to appreciate the food after waiting so long... Having experienced faster service for the same quality in the past, I can't help but think the restaurant is going through a rough patch and that the staff is perfectly aware that the service they offer is far from ideal. However, it's hard not to be critical when we were never informed about the preparation of our food, received no apology for the wait, or even a word about it. I don't mean to sound harsh, but when a restaurant's wait forces its customers to change their evening plans and, above all, jeopardizes their enjoyment of the food, it's important to point it out! Finally, I feel it's important to add to the menu that the daily specials are an additional charge on top of the original set menu price, as the staff most likely forgot to mention this, and we were surprised to find out about it on the bill when we paid. 25/07/2026: The welcome was adequate, nothing more. The service was far too slow: starter, main course, and dessert took 2 hours and 45 minutes. That was a deal-breaker for us. The food itself was good, but it lacked that little something extra that makes all the difference (crunch, spice, etc.). It lacked originality. The monkfish was perfectly cooked, but the swordfish was way overcooked. Overall, I think this restaurant is overrated.

19/08/2026: We took advantage of a visit to Epinal to stop by your lovely restaurant. By my goodness, this is an escape that truly lives up to its name! 🍕🍷 We were greeted with great kindness and served with an efficiency that would put even the most efficient tavern keepers in the kingdom to shame. No endless wait: our stomachs and good spirits were quickly satisfied! And what can we say about the pizzas and the chef's specialties? Wow! They're enough to delight any epicurean's palate: generous, flavorful, and expertly prepared. In short, we left L'Escapade with happy stomachs, delighted palates, and light hearts. A truly wonderful place where the food is excellent and the service is warm and welcoming. May Bacchus bless the cuisine, and may Rabelais himself come and feast here! 🍕🍷
