02/08/2026: UNFORGETTABLE We came to celebrate our 25th anniversary. A warm and friendly welcome from Mr. Savoy. Exceptional cuisine. Everything was perfect from beginning to end. Carole's remarkable professionalism, her discreet yet incredibly kind and ever-present smile, and the sommelier Charles's remarkable professionalism, his invaluable advice on food and wine pairings, and his ever-present smile, allowed us to enjoy an UNFORGETTABLE culinary experience. The taste of the peas reminded us of those our grandfathers used to eat when they came back from the garden, the signature dish of artichoke with truffles, the lobster, the exquisite duck, and the sumptuous desserts... It's the first time in a Michelin-starred restaurant that we've been offered refills of soup or wine if needed. It's unheard of, a true sign of great generosity. No comment, however, regarding the British restaurant manager, whom we quickly forgot about. This will absolutely not stop us from coming back, this time with our son. We would have appreciated having the chef sign the little menu as a souvenir. For me, it's in my top 3, if not the best, restaurants I've ever been to. A must-try! Thank you to the entire kitchen and service team of this great chef, Mr. Guy Savoy.

You can also find generously filled appetizer platters. The decor, lighting, large terrace, and music all contribute to creating an environment conducive to conversation and relaxation. It's always a pleasure to spend time there with my friends.

23/07/2026: I came this evening with a friend; it was our very first time at this restaurant. I trusted the positive reviews, and I'm so glad I did. We had an excellent evening. The waiter was very kind and professional, immediately presenting us with the daily menu and what was unavailable. The kitchen, waiters, and owner were all very attentive and professional, and the staff were very helpful. The team was top-notch. The service was incredibly fast. The time between the starter, main course, and dessert was perfect, allowing ample time for digestion. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated; it's really lovely. Regarding the meal, we ordered a set menu (starter, main course, and dessert) for €36.90, which is really inexpensive for the quality—everything was homemade—and especially the generous portions. We left feeling completely satisfied. The food was excellent. The homemade touches, the real homemade fries, and the Batavia lettuce, cleaned and cut to order (not bagged), were a real treat. The warm goat cheese salad is perfect as a starter; the generous portion and the balsamic dressing are excellent, perfectly complementing the goat cheese on the perfectly toasted bread. As for the ribeye steak, it's simply superb—extremely tender meat that melts in your mouth, a beautiful, high-quality cut. The rare steak is cooked to perfection. The crème brûlée, a classic, is also delicious and not too sweet. We have absolutely no complaints; we had a wonderful time. It's great to see that restaurants still exist with professionals who prepare everything themselves, peeling, washing, cooking, chopping… all the ingredients to create truly homemade cuisine at a realistic price considering the quantity and quality. You can go there without hesitation; a delicious meal is guaranteed.

08/07/2026: Le Jarrousset in Virargues is a well-established institution in the Cantal region, its reputation preceding no doubt. Chef Jérôme Cazanave takes exceptional care of his guests. The welcome is warm and the service impeccable. The cuisine is inspired and captivates with its refinement. Local produce is given pride of place, right down to the locally sourced tableware. The wine cellar is truly exceptional. The 700 or so labels are well worth exploring, perhaps even several times. Without hesitation or reservation, Le Jarrousset lives up to its excellent reputation. Very good value for money. Highly recommended.

The waitstaff is remarkably kind and courteous, even when the restaurant is busy. The open kitchen is a real bonus; the dishes are prepared with care and are very tasty. We highly recommend this restaurant!
