03/05/2026: Dinner for two at the Auberge du Bois Prin restaurant. Peaceful setting, a little removed from the center of Chamonix, with a beautiful view of Mont Blanc. Excellent cuisine featuring local and seasonal products with just the right flavors. Attentive service. All in all, a wonderful evening. I highly recommend it!

27/04/2026: I am am infrequent reviewer, but I had to write about this hidden gem. Rooms are excellent. Slept great in the bed. Showers pressure is fantastic. Views and location are excellent. Hotel is up a hill from the town, but those calories are offset by the wonderful food at the restaurant. One of the best dining experiences I have had.

06/06/2026: Passing through the area and looking for a crêperie, we were welcomed, even though it was late, at this restaurant. A great find! We received a warm welcome, the galettes were generously filled, there was a good selection, and the prices were very reasonable.

12/06/2026: **Getting ripped off at lunchtime 🫒😅** Tried it today at La Verrière in Boulogne. Verdict? A complete rip-off. I tried the chicken and mozzarella croque monsieur for €15.90. Frankly, it was bland and dry. Inside, the chicken tenders were cut so perfectly, down to the millimeter, that the industrial tray was practically opened in a hurry. Zero effort, wasted zucchini, a completely invisible béchamel sauce, and no seasoning whatsoever. The only positive point was the Poilâne bread: a nice gray crumb, nice and crusty, but it doesn't make a meal. To top it all off, the salad is… extra! Add a half-pint of flat beer (obviously from the end of the keg), and you end up with a total of €23.59 for two pieces of bread and three vacuum-packed pieces of chicken. In football jargon, we call that getting ripped off. Price-wise, the rest of the menu is outrageous: beef cheek for €26 (the cheapest cut on the butcher's counter, you have to hand it to them) and sea bream for €27. Then they wonder why customers are abandoning traditional brasseries for fast food… I'm only giving it 2/5 because the staff were okay and the terrace on the main square is quite pleasant for people-watching. You seriously need to rethink your approach, La Verrière. You can't serve mediocre food at the price of a near-Michelin-starred restaurant. It just doesn't work.

10/06/2026: Given the rave reviews, we were hoping for a fantastic meal. We left disappointed. The value for money was simply not there. The knives were certainly good, but served lukewarm with a side dish that clashed (parsley sauce versus raspberry vinegar???) and, most importantly, the octopus was rubbery, especially considering the €37 price tag – it was simply unacceptable! In the end, €180 for two people; we won't be spending that much again.

22/04/2026: A charming little gentleman welcomes us into his tavern. He concocts truly wonderful drinks; he's incredibly talented. He's ready to do anything to make his customers smile. He does little dances and plays along; he's creative, attentive, and a real joker. He perfectly masters that cocktail everyone knows, with its notes of vanilla, passion fruit, and many others. You have to admit, he's a genius. Keep up the good work!
