25/06/2026: I came here during a two-day holiday in Saint-Malo. I had two ham and butter sandwiches. The price was very reasonable. And I think you can add extras. I had the chance to try the famous Queen Anne cake, a Breton cake, and also some magnificent and delicious Breton pastries! I also had two coffees. The baker is very polite and friendly, and the Breton products are amazing.

02/08/2026: Hello, I went to Flunch Claira. A big thank you to Sylvie who gave us a warm welcome. You can tell she's a professional. The others were just taking it easy, and it was so hot! It's a disgrace to make people work in such infernal heat.

26/06/2026: We came with colleagues on June 25th and spent nearly €100 on drinks. In the middle of a heatwave, when temperatures were particularly high, we simply asked for a carafe of water to stay hydrated. The manager's response was: "I have no legal obligation to serve you free water. I pay for the water." This response deeply shocked us. When an establishment makes nearly €100 in revenue from a single table and refuses, in the middle of a heatwave, to serve a simple carafe of water, it's no longer a question of legal obligation, but of customer service, common sense, and consideration for its customers. We weren't asking for a discount or a goodwill gesture, just something to hydrate us in these exceptional weather conditions. This refusal, accompanied by such a curt response, is simply incomprehensible. Such an attitude gives a deplorable image of the establishment and is not what one has the right to expect from a restaurant professional. It was a particularly disappointing experience, and we will not be returning. We will also not recommend this establishment to our friends and family. A little humanity and a sense of hospitality would have been more than enough to avoid this situation.

26/06/2026: I have never been to a place where I felt so unwelcome. The owner, as well as his son, repeatedly gave me the impression that customers were more of a nuisance than anything else. The interactions were cold, the responses often curt, and the tone, in my opinion, lacked respect and consideration. People go to a café to have a pleasant time, but here the service completely ruins the experience. I felt I was greeted with annoyance rather than courtesy, which is particularly disappointing. It's truly regrettable, because a simple smile and a modicum of friendliness would completely transform the image of this establishment. I will never set foot in there again and I will not recommend it!

24/04/2026: Cold service… 😕after more than one year going there nearly 5 times a week: between buying cigarettes since more than a year and then eating and drinking there, they only recognized me by my preference of my cigarette brand, throwing the change centimes at me, not looking at me ever, neither treating anybody else well. I live 30m away, I prefer going elsewhere now..

26/07/2026: What a comedy! We loved this play! Our main actors—the cooks, brothers… or perhaps the twins from Alice in Wonderland—welcomed us with great enthusiasm… The acts that followed were more surprising than the last! To begin with, three different menus: one without prices, one recounting the history of the castle, and then a third with dishes that the others didn't have! And let's not forget: you don't eat what you want, since there's almost never anything left! Enter our secondary character: the waitress. Despite her best efforts, we sensed a great lack of experience. She was alone to take care of seven tables, which was far too many. When the dishes arrived, the plates from the previous courses were still on the table. We ordered two different glasses of wine. The first one arrived. We asked for the second one, but the response was: “Taste it and tell me what it is, then tell me which one is missing.”… We ordered two rare flank steaks, which were ultimately served well-done. Unfortunately, we couldn’t send them back, as they were the last ones. For the grand finale, we ordered two Merveilleux, which turned out to be cakes meant for four people. Much to our waitress’s dismay, the neighboring tables were dissatisfied and left. For our part, we enjoyed this culinary and theatrical experience with joy and good humor. But the experience didn’t end there! As we were leaving the restaurant, we received a call from one of the brothers, who wanted the gift certificate number used by the previous table… A week later, we received a second call informing us that we were late for our reservation… which had already been made! Thank you for this unforgettable moment! Hooray for the retirement of our two twins!

23/07/2026: We reserved a table for 8 people (there were 11 of us in the restaurant) on July 22, 2026. There was no menu, only a somewhat bewildered waiter giving us directions, and no prices were displayed. Two stemmed glasses per plate that clearly hadn't seen a cloth in a week... and a leek vinaigrette appetizer that was impossible to cut with a knife... This was our third visit, yet we were so disappointed that we won't be returning and won't recommend it. It's a shame, the setting is fantastic, but the staff is out of touch. We arrived at 12:30 pm and finished our meal at 1:30 pm – any faster would have been impossible. When we asked for a bill, we received a receipt with no itemized information.

16/11/2025: Very disappointing for a restaurant in the Southwest. No dishes or appetizers featuring foie gras were available, no pork confit, no Montbazillac pâté—nothing that defines the region's culinary identity. Coming to a restaurant specializing in foie gras only to end up with a huge plate of simple green salad and a piece of meat is unacceptable and certainly not the reason for our visit. The reservation had been made 24 hours in advance for 8 p.m. The excuse that "everything was ordered" is not valid. Furthermore, despite his friendliness, the only waiter present didn't even know what the dishes were made of. Under these circumstances, it would have been better to refuse the reservation or, at the very least, to give advance notice.

08/11/2025: A joke! Unfortunately, it wasn't very funny considering the poor quality of the food and the prices. The reviews must be misleading to such a high rating. We strongly advise against going there; it's a disgrace to customers and to the image of Southwest France. Food lovers, stay away!

26/04/2026: Unfriendly service that made me not want to stay: breakfast packages with no flexibility because I don't drink coffee, the unpleasant waiter simply made it clear that if it didn't suit me, it wasn't his problem.

22/07/2026: I gave a gift certificate in June 2025 for a birthday at this gourmet restaurant. Today I discovered that the establishment went into liquidation on October 8, 2025. So, no meal and money gone. Mr. Hardy should shut down his website; it would prevent this kind of disappointment.

23/06/2026: Beautiful view and pleasant setting for breakfast. Unfortunately, the service was very slow, with the servers having to make multiple trips to the bakery across the street to collect what seemed to be each order. Furthermore, the atmosphere was unpleasant due to frequent remarks and shouting from what I believe was the owner or manager towards the staff. It's a shame, because the place has potential; it was better before…

15/06/2026: The food was good quality and the staff provided excellent service. However, the owner's attitude left much to be desired. I witnessed a customer being reprimanded in front of everyone for ordering at the bar instead of remaining at his table. The tone was harsh and unprofessional. It's a shame, as it marred what could have been a very positive experience.

09/02/2026: Gourmet tea...and frankly, the little sweets were excellent. Very warm welcome.

14/12/2025: We came for the Sunday meal of the month. It was excellent. Top-notch value for money and a very friendly atmosphere. I will gladly return next month.
