Its proximity to Paris's most important attractions makes Au Canon the perfect place for a break from sightseeing. This was certainly the case – we stopped in for lunch. We found not only tourists chatting in various languages ​​but also French-speaking guests, which further emphasized the authenticity of the place. We managed to get a table outside, and since it was a warm and sunny day, we could fully enjoy the atmosphere of the Parisian street. We placed our order quickly and waited for our dishes with a glass of red wine. Lunch turned out to be very tasty – the cuisine was authentic, without unnecessary fuss, and the portions were generous and generous. I really liked this place: lively, casual, with the friendly atmosphere of a classic brasserie. Simply so quintessentially Parisian! 🇫🇷

08/09/2026: Very disappointing for an establishment using the official "homemade" logo. I ordered the homemade beef burger, displayed with this logo, but it was served with frozen, pre-packaged fries. The bun is also explicitly described as "homemade bread"; the one I received was very soft and didn't feel freshly baked at all. This problem seems to affect several dishes on the menu bearing the same logo. Please remove the "homemade" designation when the regulatory requirements are not met, as it can mislead customers. If this practice is not clarified or corrected, it may be reported to the DGCCRF (French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control).

26/08/2026: Excellent place: we received a warm welcome and enjoyed lamb chops (3 stars), a beef bo bun (2 stars), a chocolate mousse (3 stars), and a gourmet coffee (3 stars). Note that the restrooms are accessible without any steps. That's rare.

The appetizer was alright, the fish acceptable, but the lamb in overcooked, under-seasoned, overcooked vegetables was a complete disaster. And it wasn't just the food that was bad: the bread was stale from the day before, which is unacceptable. A real shame, we expected so much more. This review refers only to the restaurant; we did not stay at the hotel.

04/09/2026: A definite recommendation! The menu changes frequently, but that's what makes it so great, and all the dishes are incredibly fresh. From squid salad to lobster and duck, right through to the excellent desserts, we were thoroughly satisfied with everything. Authentic and offering fantastic value for money, which pleasantly surprised us. The wine selection was also surprisingly good and perfectly paired. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back to enjoy this authentic and excellent French cuisine.

The food was delicious, and best of all: no waiting, even though the restaurant was packed. I recommend the fig tart—a real treat!
