17/05/2026: Bad choice :( One waitress would be better off in a brasserie, she spoke so loudly and moved around so much; the second, a newbie, didn't even know how to open a bottle of wine. The somewhat kitschy hotel decor was also disappointing. The clientele is on half-board or full-board for groups of elderly people.

25/07/2026: There were five of us today, and I can highly recommend this small but excellent restaurant. The service was incredibly friendly, the food was fantastic, the drinks were great too, and the prices were absolutely unbeatable.

26/07/2026: The food was good, but the service was very disappointing. The waitress told us she had two other large tables waiting because we weren't ordering "quickly enough," making our guests very uncomfortable. Paying €60 per person for such disrespectful service is unacceptable.

26/07/2026: A very good lunch here with the family on Sunday out on the pleasant terrace. Great bread, amuse bouches (chilled tomato soup), nibbles and duck mains and salads (esp Perigoudine with v generous slab of foie gras). Exquisite wild strawberry tart with lime sorbet all round to finish. Inside is lovely too - brasserie style area to front and gorgeous classy tablecloth old skool vibe beyond. Stonking bottle of Pecharmant stood up to the confit and magret. Ok service from youngsters with v good Maitresse D. Great spot - don't know why we haven't been before.

24/07/2026: I was showing Bordeaux to a friend. Coming to your restaurant is always a pleasure; everything was delicious, served by attentive and smiling staff, not to mention the magnificent view of Bordeaux and the Pont de Pierre. A must-visit, we will be back.

30/06/2026: A wonderful discovery. Dining under the leafy terrace was very pleasant. All the meals were excellent, and the chocolate dessert was so decadent I loved it. I'd gladly return.

12/07/2026: A very warm welcome, top-notch service, and attentive, smiling waiters. Impeccable homemade paella, and an exceptional bull steak. High quality, lovely shaded and breezy terrace. A must-try. Extremely reasonable prices, quite good for the south, with an excellent selection on the €16.50 set menu.

10/07/2026: We went to eat there as a group of five on our first night after a 12-hour drive. It was a sweltering heatwave. We remembered the paella being reasonably priced. We left disappointed, having waited an hour in a sauna to eat, and the children had already finished. The octopus salad wasn't available for my 14-year-old. The paella was incredibly spicy, we were too full, and it was far too hot. We were offered two coffees that we wouldn't have had. We were extremely disappointed. The kitchen was at fault. A small suggestion: update your decor; it's outdated.

22/05/2026: The standout meal of a Bordeaux trip that included several more decorated kitchens. Chef Thibaut Gamba's style is delicate and seasonal — the white asparagus with morels and nasturtium read like a thesis on what Gironde produce can do in May, and the lamb course (rare, layered, with a sabayon and broad beans) was the kind of plate where each element earned its place. The amuse-bouche and pre-dessert were equally considered — no filler, no flourish for its own sake. Service was precise without theatre, attentive without hovering. The room — wisteria pergola outside, the plush dining room inside the 1848 building — is the kind of setting other Saint-Émilion restaurants are trying to imitate. We came with our own bottles and the team accommodated graciously, glassware and pacing handled as if it were their own list. One star feels underrated - this is where you want to eat.

20/05/2026: Logis de la Cadène was one of the most unforgettable dining experiences of our entire wedding week in France. The restaurant manages to do something incredibly special — honoring the soul and tradition of Saint-Émilion while carrying an understated modern energy that reminded me of some of the best dining experiences in New York. The food was elegant, thoughtful, and beautifully executed without ever trying too hard. Every detail — from the pacing of the meal to the warmth of the service — felt intentional and deeply hospitable. Quiet luxury in the truest sense. In a region filled with famous restaurants, this was the place we left genuinely excited about. A hidden gem that deserves to be talked about far more.

However, the sommelier service was disappointing: no wine pairings, no advice on choosing a bottle to complement the menu (it was a blind tasting), and a very limited selection of wines by the glass (which the sommelier served without even offering a taste). Overall, the experience was disappointing for a Michelin-starred restaurant.
