02/03/2026: We took a short stroll around the resort and relied on online reviews. It was winter, so there were no outdoor amenities, but even so, for a late February day, we were able to eat on the terrace, which was very pleasant. We always make a point of booking by phone or in person. This allows us to choose our table, avoid arriving last, and get the best spot—something you can't find anywhere else. The manager had reserved a table for us in the sun with the headrest in the shade. It was a very thoughtful touch. The selection wasn't huge, but it's much better than having 20 options where absolutely everything is frozen. The two people running the place are very friendly but don't let themselves be taken advantage of, which I think is perfectly legitimate. Paying doesn't give you free rein. In small resorts or villages, whether touristy or not, without this kind of business, it's the death of the village. It is certainly not in this type of establishment that one can make a fortune, but they are the ones that keep a locality alive.

11/08/2026: The perfect place to relax. The summer kitchen by the pool is ideal for sharing a meal with a group, thanks to its tables, dishes, and griddle! The location is peaceful, and the cottages are well-designed. We had a magnificent table in our cottage that could seat 24 people. It was a little dark because the windows are small, but with the heat outside, it was perfect! We'll definitely keep this address in mind and will gladly return, especially since the owners are so friendly!

07/08/2026: Well what can I say. Me and my family stayed at Brise Bois for a week. This place is just stunning. We stayed in gite 6. You couldn't ask for any better. You have everything you need, from a dishwasher, washing machine, dryer. This is very well equipped for all your needs. The pool area is just perfect. It has a nice covered seating area for cooking. WiFi connection anywhere you go on site. A 5 minute drive to Montbron, so close to supermarkets, restaurants and bars. David and his family gave us such a warm welcome and was there for anything we needed, Not that anything is needed here. I would say a must stay if you are coming to this area of france. You have lake beaches all within a 20 minute drive, so you haven't got to drive miles to get to things. Thankyou to the hosts you are amazing. We will definitely be back. 03/07/2026: A truly magical interlude! We had a wonderful night in the Orchard cabin. The setting is magnificent, calm, and peaceful; the cabin is comfortable and very well-appointed. We highly recommend this experience and will gladly return!

16/06/2026: We booked a night in the orchard cabin: everything was fantastic! The welcome was very warm, the cabin is very well-appointed with all the necessary comforts, and we slept very well (the room stayed cool despite the heat). The elevated terrace is lovely, and the breakfast basket delivered downstairs in the morning was a great touch. The location is very peaceful... We were able to completely disconnect and enjoy this moment of calm and relaxation. We have absolutely no complaints; everything was perfect! Thank you for this experience :)

06/08/2026: We arrived on galette day, with options including savory, vegetarian, or fish. Great atmosphere in the lovely square, with a sunny terrace. Apparently, it's pizza night tomorrow. :)

25/07/2026: We had two wonderful weeks at Boulede with our 3 children (aged 6, 8, and 10)! The grounds are spacious, offer plenty of privacy, and have many facilities (2 swimming pools, trampoline, pétanque, table tennis, etc.). Owners Karen and Rolf are incredibly hospitable and are happy to help suggest suitable excursions in the area. Various activities are also organized at Boulede itself—entirely without obligation—such as painting courses for the whole family, massages, table d’hotes (a fantastic plant-based dinner prepared by daughter Danne!!), babysitting options, and yoga classes. The cottage was pleasant, well-maintained, and fully equipped (we stayed in La Bouchonniere). We would love to come back sometime!

02/07/2026: We had a fantastic holiday at Boulède! We stayed in Le Tonnelier, a beautiful and fully furnished holiday home where absolutely everything has been thought of. Despite the high temperatures outside, it remained wonderfully cool inside. And for extra cooling off, there was, of course, the lovely swimming pool. Our daughter was never bored for a single moment. She could run around freely, swim endlessly, and have a great time playing on and by the trampoline. The grounds are ideal for families and exude peace and space. Karen and Rolf are incredibly hospitable, easily reachable, and enthusiastically provide great tips for the surrounding area. You feel welcome immediately. In short: a place where you truly lack nothing and can fully relax. Exactly how a holiday should be. We will definitely be back here again!

The welcome was excellent, with a special mention for Madame Dominique, who was very professional and friendly. The apartment was very clean, spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped. I highly recommend it and would gladly return.

09/05/2026: Just steps from the water, you only have to cross the road! Perfect location, beautifully decorated, well-equipped, soundproofed apartment with very comfortable bedding and spotless cleanliness. Thank you to the maintenance team and to Dominique for her warm welcome, her smile, her energy, and her helpfulness. One minor drawback, unrelated to the residence itself, is the noisy exhaust hood from the adjoining restaurant when you're on the terrace. A real gem to remember!
