08/06/2026: I went there a few years ago and it was very good, crowded and with a great atmosphere. I went back this weekend and it was very average: few people, a rather gloomy atmosphere (only half the restaurant was occupied), a rather bland dish that was served almost cold (we had gone outside for a smoke), somewhat sluggish and clumsy service... and when we left around midnight, there was nobody at the nightclub in the basement... even though we had chosen this place for its "eat, drink and dance" offer... on the other hand, the owner, Maurice, is a very nice guy.

04/07/2026: We are from Canada and we went to see the Canada versus Morocco soccer game, they had the game playing on their TVs but no volume, we asked can we please have the volume on and they told us “NO volume is only for the France games”. Ironically we drew in a bunch of Canadians and with the Moroccan fans had a good time. What a slap to FIFA and its strong views on inclusion. Do not recommend. This guy is racist/ xenophobic.

15/05/2026: The room was a bit dated but the bedding was comfortable, and the restaurant was excellent. Homemade cuisine with fresh ingredients from appetizer to dessert.

22/06/2026: We arrived at 4, early at the ferry exit, we were welcomed without any problem to drink freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee and tea, the view was splendid, we were even able to swim in an idyllic setting.

26/06/2026: We were lucky enough to get the last two rooms at the Auberge. It's a very special place to stay in a small mountain village. The owner speaks excellent German and treated us to a superb three-course meal in the evening. You reach the Auberge via a narrow and winding mountain road, which is a special experience in itself.

18/05/2026: If you're looking for peace and quiet, this is the place for you. The road to get there is very narrow, but relaxation is worth the effort. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the manager is very helpful. There's a restaurant and bar on site. Recommended.

21/04/2026: The terrace is sunny, right by the road, but that's not a big deal because the view is lovely. The coffee is very good and the welcome is friendly. Right next door there's a small secondhand shop whose profits go to animal welfare organizations.

26/05/2026: We have been traveling Europe for eight days. This is by far the best meal we have had. Lots of food, well prepared and beautiful presentation. The price was excellent and the service first rate. Highly recommend. Absolutely delicious

26/05/2026: Stopped at Black Horse during a motorcycle trip through France — six of us, hungry and looking for a proper lunch. We were not disappointed. We all went for the aubergine with rice and minced meat, and it was a genuinely surprising dish: deep, layered flavours, well-seasoned, and clearly made with care. Not the kind of thing you expect to stumble upon mid-ride, which made it all the better. The terrace in the shade was the perfect spot to cool down, take off the gear, and enjoy a relaxed meal together. Friendly atmosphere, no fuss, just good food and a nice setting. Highly recommended if you’re passing through. We’ll be back.
