25/01/2026: Deceptive business practices and unjustified prices. Avoid at all costs: this establishment exploits the lack of competition to trap customers. It capitalizes on its proximity to the theater to charge exorbitant prices with complete impunity. The experience was surreal. With no non-alcoholic or sugar-free drinks available, we opted for an herbal tea. They then tried to charge us a €4 "hot drink surcharge after 5 pm"! We had to ask for the menu and check for ourselves to discover that the actual surcharge was €0.80. A billing "error" that is nothing short of a blatant rip-off. I sincerely feel for the waitress who seemed to be struggling, caught between high-pressure sales tactics and understandably exasperated customers. Don't be fooled by the location; walk a little further and spend your money at an honest restaurant.

24/01/2026: Avoid this place at all costs! We went there after a show because it was the closest bar, and the evening turned into a disaster… Dry January being what it is, I ordered two non-alcoholic beers (priced at €6 each, no less!), but they were out of everything except one that wasn't cold. So we ended up ordering a crepe (€5) and an herbal tea (€4.20), and when it came time to pay, the waitress told me it was €13 and that there was a surcharge on hot drinks after 5 pm. Seriously, who does that, considering it's not a bar but a restaurant and they don't offer anything else without alcohol or sugar? We were a large group, everyone paid for their drinks, and at the end, the waitress told us that €39 was missing from the bill. We checked the whole bill again and realized they had added extra drinks. But they wouldn't listen, and we had to pay for their rip-off. And to top it all off, being honest, I checked the menu to see where the mistake might have been, and I saw that the surcharge for hot drinks was €0.80. I had to show them that I'd been charged €13 and that they'd charged me €8 for an herbal tea before they'd even bother to give me a refund. In short, this place is a disgrace, and these people should be punished for ripping off customers like this.

20/03/2026: A charming little restaurant, somewhere between fine dining and a traditional Alsatian wine bar (Winstub). There's a paid covered parking lot practically next door. The interior is welcoming. There's an oven in the dining room for cooking meats, but it wasn't working. The waitress was very friendly and attentive. The menu consists of about ten dishes, which is a sign of quality. The prices are reasonable (we booked through The Fork, so we got an additional 30% off). The sea bass fillet with eggplant caviar was excellent, as was the beef fillet. An excellent place that's a bit off the beaten path.

10/12/2025: Exceptional cuisine, exquisitely refined dishes with a delicate blend of Asian influences and Provençal ingredients. We loved it. Thank you to the chef and his team.

12/04/2026: We highly recommend Fort Mardi restaurant, which we chose to celebrate our wedding last week. The owner's welcome was exceptionally warm; he was always attentive and eager to please each of our guests, from the cocktail hour until the end of the evening. The upstairs room, both inviting and cozy, offers a beautiful view of the garden, making the setting truly delightful. The meal was exquisite from start to finish. The chef took the time to present each dish, sharing its story and composition, which was greatly appreciated. The service was impeccable: efficient, professional, and always friendly. In short, we had a magical evening. A huge thank you to Mr. Cariou and his entire team!

20/03/2026: Wow. What a gem. The food. The ambience. The staff. Everything was phenomenal. It’s right in the centre of old town yet down a side street so it feels like a hidden gem. They have a huge selection of natural wines which all impressed us. The chef did a fantastic job with each course, I highly recommend the pork belly (if it’s still on the menu) - highly recommend!

20/03/2026: We had the trout tartar, served with beetroot and feta, the squid with chorizo, and the chocolate mousse with lemon and ginger. Everything was delicious, the plates were beautiful, and also good wine and cappuccino. The server was super friendly.

24/04/2026: Visited in 10-25 Magnificent place, we loved our time there. The food is very good. Here, the non-alcoholic drinks are real cocktails; the recipes are carefully crafted to offer alternatives.

13/04/2026: An exceptional experience from start to finish. We came for dinner as a couple after a wonderful day at the Musée d'Orsay, and the experience continued perfectly on our plates. The dishes are of exceptional quality, with simple yet remarkably effective compositions centered around the theme of the sea. Every element is perfectly executed, the cooking is spot-on, and the flavors are precise and balanced. Could this be perfection? Everything seems almost simple on the surface, but that's precisely what makes the experience so exceptional. A true testament to precision and culinary talent. An address I highly recommend, and one I will gladly return to.

01/04/2026: An exceptional place. It has a terrace on a quiet pedestrian street, ideal for stopping for a glass of wine with truffle-flavored cheese fries. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and there's live music which makes the experience even more enjoyable.

30/03/2026: A €45/person disappointment First and last visit. I ate at this restaurant for a birthday: bad idea. Upon arrival, the group was split across three separate tables, which immediately ruined the convivial atmosphere of a celebratory meal. But at €45 per person for the set menu, one has the right to expect a minimum level of quality and attention. This was not the case. The service: slow, inattentive. No steak knives. You have to ask for them, and they're just tossed into the middle of the table. The wine list: reduced to the bare minimum, low-end, and for white wine… only dry white. 😅 The choice of dishes: three very basic options… (chicken and fries, sirloin steak and fries, tagliatelle with prawns) and not exceptional in terms of taste. ⚠️ Bottled water was placed on the tables for a fee, without any carafes being offered. A classic example of discreet billing… And to finish: the “birthday dessert.” A plate of frozen macarons, financiers, and… canelés. Honestly, make an effort! 😟 Not to mention the music playing downstairs while the music upstairs was still on: inaudible to everyone. I’ve eaten much better, and much cheaper, in many places in Bordeaux. Bordeaux has too much to offer to stop here.
