29/08/2024: This place is so welcoming and delicious! I definitely enjoyed the hospitality and service above all! The wine was great and they even brought a bowl of water for my puppers! Below is a picture of my experience! Both my waiters were top notch and the one was so kind to take the picture for my memories in Paris! Will definitely revisit this one again in March for my birthday!

05/07/2025: The lakeside location is superb, but the service is subpar. Poor side dishes, forgotten drinks, and even toothpicks in the sugar bowl. Luckily, the appetizer and main course were good. I definitely won't be back.

19/06/2025: Very good restaurant. Traditional and generous cuisine. You enter this restaurant and you smell the fried onions, it whets your appetite.

15/06/2025: We were there after a walk in the Roppeviller region. We were a group of 28 people, the welcome was non-existent but we found our places thanks to friends of the group already there. The service and the bar are provided by a young man and a slightly older gentleman, they did not stop running and they ensured the room as best they could. The wait was still long, even very long, customers rushing to the bar to pay, while the two people provided the service in the room....they really did their best and I wonder how they manage with the order forms and the billing for about 60 covers. An extra person in the room would not be too much. For €25 we had a small plate of three crudités, a small slice of smoked ham, 1/2 hard-boiled egg, 1/2 slice of country pâté and 1 slice of sausage, then roast pork in sauce, fries, spätzle, salads, vegetables, for dessert a slice of apple pie. The whole thing was decent and sufficient. The location of this unique restaurant in this village and the proximity of the Colorado of the Bitche region mean that many people come to eat there, we should not skimp on the welcome or the service or the quality and quantity of the food served. Too bad, it would take little to give (or restore) the shine to this establishment located in a charming little village.

19/08/2024: Another excellent meal in this essential concept store in Flaine! Great children's menu for our 8 year old homemade croque monsieur accompanied by a diabolo (or syrup) and a choice of ice cream for dessert: oasis stick or vanilla/chocolate. For us, a Caesar salad with its homemade sauce (the real good taste of Caesar salad) very hearty and complete, a generous croziflette which smells of Haute Savoie and cannelloni of zucchini, ricotta and spinach (veggie dish)… to die for ! After all that, it's impossible for me to have dessert but a gourmet coffee for my partner (3 real portions of homemade dessert) and profiteroles for my daughter (4 homemade choux pastry and homemade hot chocolate). Brief ! We had a great time with pleasant and smiling employees as a bonus.

19/08/2024: Encore un excellent repas dans ce concept store incontournable sur Flaine ! Super menu enfant pour notre 8 ans croque monsieur maison accompagné d’un diabolo ( ou sirop) et une glace aux choix en dessert : bâtonnet oasis ou vanille/chocolat. Pour nous, une salade César avec sa sauce maison ( le vrai bon goût de la salade César) bien copieuse et complète, une croziflette généreuse qui sent bon la Haute Savoie et des cannellonis de courgettes gourres ricotta et épinards ( plat veggie) … à tomber ! Après tout ça, impossible pour moi de prendre un dessert mais un café gourmand pour mon conjoint ( 3 vraies portions de dessert maison) et des profiteroles pour ma fille ( 4 choux maison et chocolat chaud maison). Bref ! On s’est régalé avec des employés agréables et souriants en prime.

22/09/2024: We visited here twice. We liked the shrimp and croquettes so much the first night that we decided to go back. At first we made a mistake with the wine, but then a nice waitress suggested a more appropriate one, and it was really great. The grilled octopus was also good. Even though we had not reserved a table, we were found seats in an almost full restaurant.

15/09/2024: We went to this restaurant to taste tapas. Once we arrive we realize that the prices are exorbitant. We just ordered the crispy prawns and the pan con tomato. The prawns for €14 were actually 6 shrimps with mayonnaise. And the pan con tomate bread was so dry that we couldn’t eat it. In short, the rest may be good but we preferred to stop our meal after this experience!

20/10/2024: A very nice discovery for this restaurant on the occasion of my partner's dad's 92nd birthday a week ago. Top-notch gastronomy, service and kindness from the staff with a view of the Loire which makes this restaurant an unmissable address, I highly recommend the Hostellerie de la Gabelle🍂🍄🍁

24/11/2024: Known for their truffle menu, and although we didn't pick that, we enjoyed the set meal that we picked. The complimentary bread with truffle butter was a good starting point. Among the appetizers, the eggplant stood out for me, showcasing cooking techniques and out of the ordinary flavours. Of the two mains we had, preferred the steak. It's better than what we had from a Michelin-starred restaurant few days before. The prawn main needed a little more finesse, one piece isn't as refined as the others. They gave free lasagna topped with bone marrow. Loved it and it needed to go in their main menu. Dessert came in a wide variety, but my personal favorite is the complimentary truffle ice cream. A bit hesitant at first but it was very delicious. Service is excellent. Each dish is described in detail which sets the tone for each dish. A small hiccup at the beginning because the table is a bit dusty, might be an exhaust issue. Still complimented the chef before leaving because what a great meal that was.

16/11/2024: Just divine. We had the inspiration and truffle menu as well as the food and wine pairing, everything was fabulous from start to finish. A variety of dishes, textures, and an explosion of flavors and emotions! A perfect balance between truffle and other processed products. Very happy that the menu changes regularly so that we can return to it again and again. Many thanks for Martin’s service which is an integral part of the very exclusive experience!
