01/11/2025: It's always a pleasure to eat at La Bergerie! The atmosphere is friendly, and the owner's (and chef's, of course) passion truly shines through in the food, thanks to a wide variety of fresh, homemade dishes. The quality cuisine is a welcome change from the usual potato gratin, fries, or green beans! A restaurant like no other.

25/09/2026: Laurent and Angélique prepared and served us an excellent meal that delighted the whole family, all with their kindness and expertise. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially since they have recently renovated and beautified their main dining room for festive occasions! Many thanks again, and we hope to return.

03/09/2026: We had a lovely family lunch, opting for the market menu and the business lunch menu. The dishes are prepared with fresh, local, and seasonal produce. The plates were beautifully presented and generously portioned. We were slightly disappointed with the dessert, as our first choice was so popular it was sold out (our second choice was still very good!). This is one of the "risks" of prioritizing homemade food, which we completely understand and accept. Excellent value for money. I happily recommend this restaurant.

02/10/2026: Everything was absolutely wonderful. From the very first bite, the bread was incredibly delicious and paired beautifully with the Crémant. The starters were equally impressive. The escargots arrived piping hot, and the marinated herring had no unpleasant fishiness at all. It went perfectly with the boiled potatoes and the sauce. The terrine was also delicious, with the wonderful aroma and flavor of thyme coming through generously. For the main course, the duck breast became more flavorful with every bite and was a perfect match for the potato purée. The texture of the purée was especially interesting. I’m not sure whether it contained fish roe or something similar, but it had a delicate popping texture that I had never experienced before. The beef bourguignon was also wonderful and paired beautifully with the red wine. We were truly impressed by the wine, food, and cheese of this region. Everything gave us a real sense of the richness of the local cuisine. And finally, the service was exceptional:warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our meal. It was a truly memorable experience, and we enjoyed every part of it.

(…) Thanks to the super friendly owner who's incredibly talented at making cocktails and providing excellent service. He's also very funny. Great atmosphere. "Cindy is amazing!" (lol, just kidding.) Very professional with the kind of smile we love. And the food! Wow! I highly recommend this place.

18/08/2026: Attracted by the good reviews, we decided to try this restaurant for lunch during the week. We managed to find a seat by chance – it was almost fully booked. We’d read about long waiting times, but as we were on holiday, we hadn’t worried about it. Until we ended up waiting nearly an hour for… a salad! It was tasty and generous, but my friend had been served her starter at least forty minutes earlier. The dishes were good. The seafood starter was delicious. We also tried the café gourmand, but at €8 – given the prices in the area – it seemed a bit steep to me. For €20, there’s a menu with a starter, a main course and a dessert. Sparkling water is €5 per litre. Overall, the food is good, and there’s free parking out front from 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm.

19/09/2026: Hello Mr. Pierre Sang, I just watched a video of you preparing a ribeye steak with a champagne béarnaise sauce—a very nice recipe. However, I am absolutely appalled by the habits you clearly maintain in the kitchen: namely, tasting with a spoon that you then tirelessly return to a container of water, reusing throughout the recipe, and then using, after licking it clean, to serve… Are you aware that you are performing actions that pose a very high risk of cross-contamination for your customers? I find these habits completely irresponsible for a professional of your stature. Disposable spoons exist that could do the job while respecting the essential food hygiene rules required in your profession. I confess to being extremely disappointed, but rest assured, you are not the only one, and that is precisely the real problem…

Both the service (the kindness and professionalism of the waiters/waitresses and the cooks were delightful) and the food were excellent. Perfect for couples or families!

17/01/2026: The €32.90 set menu featured a minimalist sea bass ceviche and very bland, minimalist spinach ravioli: a shame, a chef should know how to showcase the ingredients, and a little more generosity would have been appreciated! The temperature was a bit low for a winter evening!

18/08/2026: Born in Valras, I return to this restaurant every year for the fresh sea bream tartare and the complexity of the dishes that make us feel pampered. Valras has been dying for a long time, which is why I'm leaving a review of my second favorite place. In a seaside resort, you don't want to spend your money on frozen food and mass-produced service. At Le Sépia, you're in the right place: gastronomic quality at the prices of the line-caught fresh fish restaurants of yesteryear. Unfortunately, I couldn't come this year during my visit, but I'm counting down the months until I can eat well again. We must support restaurateurs who maintain the love and quality of our local produce. I highly recommend it to lovers of stimulated taste buds; truly, bravo for persevering despite the changing tourism landscape. So, for those ready to enjoy a quality experience, it's simple: Le Sépia is among the three or four restaurants that still serve homemade, fresh, and affordable food. See you next year!

Regarding the frequently mentioned wait time: Yes, it did take a while – but after all, you want to enjoy a nice, relaxing evening, not be stuck in a fast-food joint. 😉 Our eleven-year-old son also ate the entire menu and loved it.
