24/08/2026: Given the numerous positive reviews, I was expecting a much better experience. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with my stay. The room wasn't very clean, and the high chair provided wasn't clean either. The hosts were only moderately welcoming, and the garden could use more maintenance. On the other hand, a special mention goes to the meals, which were truly excellent. Overall, a mixed experience, with some positive aspects but also several areas for improvement.

The breakfast is excellent, with plenty of choice and delicious local products. The owner's cooking is exceptional; we enjoyed a stopover while cycling the Scandinavian Way and had a truly outstanding meal. The staff, servers, and owner all offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

06/04/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A fantastic Easter weekend at Château de la Motte in Liessies! The Easter menu was simply exceptional: generous, flavorful cuisine with excellent value for money. Special mention goes to the rack of lamb, perfectly paired with a very good red wine. The children's menu is also very well thought out: our daughter loved it! We also spent the night there in a very comfortable family room, with two separate areas and a lovely bathroom. A hearty breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. A warm welcome, impeccable service, and the kind of family atmosphere we love. We completely understand why the establishment is celebrating its 90th anniversary! A must-visit in the Avesnois region — we will definitely be back! 👍

06/03/2026: The place was lovely and the owner very kind. However, we waited a very long time for our food (2.5 hours in total at the table). The food was good but not exceptional, with the chocolate fondant being a major disappointment as it was very dry.

08/09/2026: A very good brasserie with a menu featuring hearty salads, chicken, and beef; the food is excellent and the service is pleasant. I'm eagerly awaiting the day they ban smoking on the terrace, as some customers fill the place with smoke – what a lack of respect!

30/08/2026: We visit Pont Neuf every holiday and were looking forward to our visit once again. The waitresses are usually friendly and the food is simple but tasty. But this time the experience was truly disappointing. We wanted a light snack, and I ordered a large ice cream sundae for the younger children (13 years old), while the older ones wanted, "if possible," a children's menu with fries, ice cream, and a cordial. It was very busy, and many customers were enjoying a late lunch; so the waiter took our order with a grumpy expression. He didn't mention, however, that a children's menu wasn't available for 15-year-olds, even though I asked if it was possible; and there wasn't a maximum age listed on the menu either. It was only after the children had finished their small portion of fries that he announced they wouldn't be getting any more drinks or dessert, because in his eyes, they were at least 20 years old. They aren't 20, but I didn't have their passports with me. And he should have mentioned that when they ordered. I asked again if I could order a small ice cream separately for them, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible; they had to pay the full price of the children's menu at €14.50 per person for a small plate of fries with two chicken nuggets. If the waiter had said that a children's menu wasn't allowed, we would have accepted it. And if the waiter had only served the plate of fries and charged us for that, that would also have been acceptable. But serving only one item from the children's menu and making us pay the full price AFTERWARDS is simply a rip-off. It was all the more unpleasant because the waiter was discussing it with his boss and/or colleagues, pointing at us. We understand French and found this unwelcoming. It would have been better to discuss it directly with us. We also found this inappropriate.

24/09/2026: We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance. We were delighted by the wonderful and attentive service. The food, from the appetizer to the dessert and cheese, was a delight. And all this in a completely relaxed atmosphere. Superb!

13/09/2026: Excellent, fresh and high-quality products, original dishes with lots of flavor! Yes, there can sometimes be a bit of a wait, but it's not always the case. I highly recommend it!

24/09/2026: It's a really nice place for a drink, the waitress is super friendly. The appetizers that come with the drinks are also a pleasant surprise. And for those who want to, you can even play chess; there are chessboards available.
