12/12/2025: Nice atmosphere and great setting, but almost no non-alcoholic drinks menu, apart from 2 or 3 sodas or sparkling water... it's a real shame, especially since most other bars make the effort to offer alternatives!

10/05/2026: Overrated restaurant. Very expensive for the quality and quantity. For example: The langoustines were good, but there were only 5 slices of potato and 2g of bacon for a "rustic" touch. The dessert was disappointing. Amateurish service. €150 for 4 people and leaving hungry is unacceptable.

18/05/2026: We came over the Ascension weekend and had a reservation for 7:30 pm; an hour later we were out of the restaurant. The staff were in a hurry to take orders and serve the food. We ordered appetizers and crêpes, and everything arrived at the same time. The same thing happened with the desserts and coffees. It felt like they were pushing us to eat quickly to maximize our profits. Despite this, the crêpes and galettes were good.

24/03/2026: Cozy little restaurant in Valmeinier 1500. Not an extensive menu (mainly fondue or raclette for at least 2 people, and a wide selection of pizza), but the rump steak and the escalope savoyarde (for 1 person) are highly recommended. Very friendly staff. Approx. 40-45 euros per person for aperitif, meal, dessert, and wine with the meal, so certainly not expensive! I would definitely recommend this place!

We've been going to this restaurant at least three times a year for over 12 years, ever since we stumbled upon this gem while traveling through the southwest. We feel so comfortable there that we keep coming back!

08/07/2025: Great delicious refined food, fast and friendly service, overall very good experience. If there’s one thing that could be better, the only thing we could think of was the bread which was not completely on point. But the rest was really great! Can absolutely recommend this place!

06/07/2025: We had a dinner for two in the nice wine cellar. We started with a cheese and charcuterie platter which was a nice way to start. For the main course we had the steak tartar and the hamburger, which were both really good (especially price quality wise). For the desserts we had the crème brûlée and the French toast, which I’d definitely recommend. We had a bottle of wine which was decent for 34 euros but by googling this the wholesale price was roughly 8-10 euros so this is an okay deal. The staff was really nice even for mwah french speakers. even making some jokes and trying to talk english.

27/02/2026: Review of the GASTRONOMIC restaurant: My experience at La Maison Demarcq in no way reflects what one would expect from a fine dining restaurant. Wearing a suit is unfortunately not enough to guarantee professional service. The waitresses on duty that evening did not seem trained to meet the requirements of this type of establishment: cutlery dropped during clearing, an empty water bottle left on the table for half the meal without being offered another… and these are just a few examples. The most disappointing aspect was the handling of a perfectly legitimate comment regarding my partner's starter. We had all ordered the set menu, but his plate was noticeably richer in aspic than those of the other diners. When I pointed this out, the waitress replied that the kitchen had probably made a mistake by sending an à la carte starter instead of the one from the set menu. I expressed that this had spoiled the meal, but I received neither a clear apology nor any real attention to the situation, just a dismissive "oh well..." Mistakes happen, but the lack of a professional response is regrettable. Regarding the food, the meal was acceptable up until the main course (despite this incident). However, the dessert was a real disappointment: an extremely thick, heavy mille-feuille, difficult to enjoy, and which, in my opinion, has no place in an establishment claiming to be fine dining. It's a shame to end the meal on such an undignified note. Finally, the music was not in keeping with the advertised setting and level of service. The playlist played sounded more like an NRJ Music Awards party than a musical selection suitable for a fine dining restaurant. This contributed to an overall inconsistent experience. In the end, the price-quality ratio may partly explain these negative points: the pricing positioning remains reasonable, and this ultimately makes certain imperfections less surprising — even if we still expect a minimum of professionalism and consistency.
