07/07/2026: Absolutely excellent. The menu is simple, but the food stands out for its quality and superb execution. The chuck roast was incredibly tender, yet retained its meaty texture. The mashed potatoes were very good with a delicious potato flavor. The tarte tatin was melt-in-your-mouth tender and flavorful. The setting is lovely, and the service is pleasant. The only downside was that it was a bit slow to receive the main courses…and even the dessert, even though we were the first to arrive. The timing was tight for a weekday lunch (1 hour 45 minutes for a main course and dessert) when you have to get back to the office afterward.

19/07/2026: A very pleasant aperitif; the caipirinha was extraordinary. Exploring the different appetizers and identifying them was a delightful experience. The food and wine pairings were very subtle. A slight disappointment with the morels that accompanied the chicken. But this hardly mattered, as the overall atmosphere was excellent. We'll be back.

12/07/2026: Make a reservation for this delightful experience! 'La Doubs' itself is worth a visit if you're boating the Saone but this restaurant was the highlight of our stop. We were lucky enough to get seated on a Friday evening and had great service (and entertainment!) from Robert and his team. I ordered the Pochouse, which was out of this world. We shared frog legs (excellent) and the crawfish flan (not my fave, but others loved it). Great wine selection and the locally (very local) made whiskey mixes are absolutely worth a try. We regretted not buying a bottle! Thank you Le Caveau team!

11/07/2026: I feel honored and lucky to have docked our boat in Verdun-sur-le-Doubs, otherwise we would have never found Le Caveau! Robert and his staff clearly understand the power of family & food. When you arrive you’re greeted as if you dinning there weekly for years. As you open the menu they share which farms all their meats, cheeses and vegetables are sourced from. The menu is thoughtful, fun and sophisticated and has something for everyone, including vegetarians. The meal was a journey of classic French cooking with some fun twists on modern styles. All four of us could not stop bragging how good our dishes were. Now for the best part of our experience. Robert and his staff make you feel like family, creating laughter, smiles, full bellies and memories. They truly love what they do, and make everyone feel like their home. Merci, Merci, Merci!! Le Caveau is a must visit if you’re in the area!

11/07/2026: Delicious Thai eggplant as a starter, followed by perfectly cooked fish that melted in your mouth. The service was very friendly and welcoming. Just one minor complaint: the restrooms weren't up to standard.

Special mention goes to the waitress who presented the daily specials, explaining each dish in detail...bravo! In short, we had a wonderful time; don't hesitate to visit this establishment.
