27/06/2026: A very pleasant surprise during our walk. A warm welcome, everything was fresh and homemade. A large, air-conditioned dining room allowed us to cool off. I highly recommend it.

01/08/2026: We attended La Chaumière on Thursday night with six of us (pre-booked) and had a good dinner. There were a few areas for improvement which should be considered for future visits. Entres - one dish forgotten / never brought out even after raising this. No apologies from the staff or acknowledgement they’d missed this - we cancelled this when it didn’t turn up as mains were coming out. Mains - very good food, ask for a second plate of potatoes as one small plate of potatoes for six people was not enough. Overall very good food and portions were big. You do need to pre-order the chicken however so if you don’t check the menu in advance you couldn’t have this. Deserts were okay, cream offered with apple pie which tasted off / sour cream and ruined dish. We scraped to the side. Staff weren’t particularly enthusiastic and asking for a carafe of water was unnecessarily hard work. A young male staff member borderline rude. Overall we liked the restaurant but as a customer you shouldn’t have a comment / raise something every course. Room for improvement.

23/07/2026: The restaurant was full, and both waitresses were incredibly fast (they were also in charge of the bar) – great service. We ordered one dish from the daily specials menu, beef cooked medium, but they could barely cut it… it was like chewing gum. And it definitely wasn't medium/see photo. We mentioned it when they were clearing the table (unfortunately, no one came before because it was so busy). The response: "Oh, would you like dessert?" 😂 …that was all. The waitress was also baffled when we said it was like chewing gum. We then paid. The baked cheese was good. The beef wasn't worth the money. Maybe we were just unlucky and got a tough piece…

14/07/2026: Hello, We had a terrible dining experience, and for good reason. Following a phone reservation made directly with the manager on June 25th for Monday, July 13th at 12:15 PM, we arrived on time that Monday at the restaurant entrance, delighted with what awaited us after driving 100 km between the two of us. And guess what? Our name wasn't on the reservation... After providing proof of the call, the manager found our reservation for August 13th, a date on which we were not in the area. It was impossible to accommodate us given the poor quality of service at this restaurant... No apology, no empathy, nothing, just "it might be my fault." I find this unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. There's more to dining than just the food. So, to readers of this review, I urge you to request written confirmation of your reservations. Enjoy your meal!
