26/08/2026: The C/P ratio is impeccable. Two words: Fair and fine. No matter what your food budget is when visiting Chamonix, I highly recommend having a meal at La Matafan at least once. Because……Life, huh. It filled the void that last night’s steak at another restaurant left in both body and mind. Before coming to Chamonix, I searched online for several recommended restaurants and looked through their menus for special dishes worth trying here. One dish at La Matafan particularly caught my attention: L'agneau I was already intrigued by the fact that the chef had experience at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Then, when I was making the reservation, I discovered that La Matafan is actually the restaurant of the five-star Hotel Mont-Blanc, which made me even more excited. From the reservation itself, to the bread, appetizer, cold soup, main course, and finally the little dessert, the entire dining experience truly lived up to the standards of a five-star hotel. Beyond the food itself, both the dining atmosphere and the quality of service were outstanding. Every dish showed the chef’s commitment to both culinary craftsmanship and artistic design, with an impressively high level of attention to detail. The tiny edible flowers delicately placed on the dishes were such a lovely little detail that made the whole experience feel romantic. The presentation made the entire dining experience feel beautifully complete. I especially want to praise the service staff. Dining alone in such a lively outdoor restaurant, combined with the fact that the folding chair was sitting on the grass and difficult to pull closer to the table, made me feel a little uncomfortable and anxious. But the staff were natural and warm throughout the entire meal, which gradually helped me relax and feel more at ease dining alone. And I absolutely have to mention the little dessert at the end. In my country, I never really understood what was so special about madeleines. I had tried them before and always thought, “Isn’t it just a sweet pastry?” But today, when I bit into the madeleine and started chewing, my eyes literally widened: “Oh～this is so good ❤️🥰” I even wanted another one 🤭. It was such a romantic dining experience that it made the whole day feel beautiful. I’ll definitely come back the next time I visit Chamonix.❤️ Highly recommended.

An Alsatian atmosphere that perfectly represents our beautiful region, with a terrace shaded by a magnificent vine, very friendly and attentive service, and a delicious meal—not too much, not too little, just right! 20/07/2026: Frankly disappointed with our lunch. After waiting for 20 minutes when there were very few customers, both dishes—paupiette and mashed potatoes—arrived completely cold. We had to send them back, and they replaced them. Then, the French toast dessert was neither soft nor fresh; it was still frozen. We also pointed this out, but... nothing came of it. It was the first and last time at this restaurant. I do not recommend it.

30/08/2026: We received a very warm welcome; the staff are very pleasant and welcoming. The table service was quick and perfect. We have dined at this brasserie many times; it's a very pleasant and friendly place.

21/07/2026: I stumbled upon this hotel by chance, and I'm so glad I did. Everything is perfect: the rooms are spotlessly clean, the bedding is comfortable, and the staff is genuinely pleasant and always smiling. The added bonuses are the lovely restaurant where everything is homemade (including the whipped cream) and the swimming pool, which is a huge plus. And finally, the setting behind the hotel is beautiful and lush. You completely disconnect...in short, a little gem!

19/07/2026: Great hotel. Clean and tidy, and it also has a beautiful large swimming pool. The food is fantastic too. The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Considering all these qualities, it is truly a budget hotel.

16/08/2026: Really lovely restaurant had a great meal from the menu du jour. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, knowledgeable about their extensive wine list and are attentive and priced accordingly. The avocado toast started was delicious as was the chilled sour, and the main courses of sea bass was perfect cooked as was my steak. Fantastic value for money. Really appreciated being able to practice my French without the lovely waitress reverting to English even though she had worked in the uk, and it was due to her kindness and welcome as we walked around that we decided to eat there instead of one recommended by our friends!

04/08/2026: The squid was very good, but the portion was really minimal. The ceviche was good, nothing special, but again, I was still hungry when I left :-) Very good food, but personally, I would have easily eaten twice the portion.

02/08/2026: Catering Services: **Review of our wedding caterer** **Strengths:** * Excellent follow-up and reassuring support throughout the wedding planning process. * High-quality cuisine. We, as well as all our guests, were delighted with the dishes served, which were a hit with everyone. **Areas for improvement:** * The cocktail hour started about an hour late because everything wasn't ready. * As the bride and groom, we didn't have a dedicated tray during the cocktail hour, which prevented us from fully enjoying the appetizers. * Towards the end of the evening, we felt the service was rather rushed to finish quickly.
