04/07/2026: The food was good but nothing special. The service was very slow even though there weren't many people there; we even had to go and get our desserts because the waitress was talking about her retirement with a customer and told us she'd forgotten about us.

05/07/2026: The service was very good, and the setting pleasant. The meal was quite good. The Gusto salad was very light. There wasn't much in it. Even the salad itself was hard to find. A shame for the price.

05/07/2026: We came as a group of four, without a reservation, simply intending to have a drink. We ended up being tempted by dinner, and what a wonderful surprise! The entire team is lovely, smiling, attentive, and caring from beginning to end. We truly felt welcome. The setting is superb, both inside and out, which makes the experience even more enjoyable. As for the food, it's simply delicious: flavorful, generous dishes, prepared with care. The value for money is exceptional and, in our opinion, hard to beat in La Baule. A truly wonderful discovery that we wholeheartedly recommend. We will definitely be back!

18/03/2026: What a disappointment! We had dinner with friends at this restaurant, which we know very well, having celebrated New Year's Eve there many times and having eaten lunch and dinner there on numerous occasions. We hadn't been back for about a year. The change was drastic: the food was tasteless, and the presentation was extremely basic. As for the service, it was nothing like what we had experienced before. The waitress displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. The restaurant is very expensive for what it offers; I absolutely do not recommend it.

18/07/2026: Perhaps Mr Fly never left? Maison Rostang does many things very well. The kitchen deserves particular credit for offering a genuinely ambitious vegetarian tasting menu, rather than treating vegetarian guests as an afterthought. Several dishes were excellent, the wine pairing was generally thoughtful, and most of the service was warm and professional. The dining room is elegant, although rather pared-back for a two-Michelin-star restaurant; no white tablecloths and relatively little ceremony. That is, of course, largely a matter of taste. Less subjective was the atmosphere created by a large, increasingly loud and visibly intoxicated party nearby, which made the evening less enjoyable for us and, judging by a few exchanged glances, for some of the other guests as well. We were somewhat amused to discover a fly circling our table. A review from six years ago describes an unwanted guest at Maison Rostang named “Mr Fly”, who spent the evening sampling the bread and butter. Perhaps he never left. He appeared to have aged remarkably well and still showed a keen interest in fine dining. Curiously, we encountered no flies at any of the other restaurants we visited in Paris. The principal disappointment, however, was not amusing. Our dessert wine was simply forgotten and did not arrive until after we had finished the dessert. This was particularly unfortunate because the wine and dessert were very clearly intended to be enjoyed together: each was sweet and enjoyable, but the point of a pairing is precisely the experience created by tasting them side by side. A sweet dessert followed by a sweet wine is not the same thing. Mistakes happen, even at excellent restaurants. What should not happen at a restaurant of this standing is an attempt to disguise the mistake. When the omission was finally noticed, we were told, with an entirely straight face, that the pastry chef had specifically wanted the wine to be served only after the dessert. That explanation was plainly implausible and felt less like hospitality than an effort to avoid admitting what had happened. That was the most disappointing aspect of the evening. A two-star restaurant should be able to acknowledge an error honestly. Guests can forgive a missed glass of wine; being misled directly to their faces is harder to overlook. When we raised the matter with the maître d’hôtel, he apologised sincerely and offered us two glasses of champagne. We appreciated the gesture. Unfortunately, it was rather too little, too late: an important part of the tasting experience had already been lost, and champagne could not restore either the pairing or our confidence in the explanation we had been given. There is considerable talent in the kitchen, and the vegetarian menu alone makes Maison Rostang noteworthy. Yet two Michelin stars create very high expectations, not only for the food but also for precision, judgement and integrity in the service. On this occasion, the restaurant did not quite live up to them. Mr Fly, on the other hand, remains impressively consistent.

20/07/2026: They can't even be bothered to collect the 50cl deposit cups, yet they're handing them out to others right in front of me. It's pure dishonesty, just to squeeze out a euro every time. You really think people are idiots. This deserves to be reported immediately. Luckily, it's not like this everywhere in France.

19/07/2026: Be careful during the Bayonne Festival. The bar does charge a deposit for the recycled glass when you order a drink, but refuses to refund it when you ask for your deposit back.

The products were fresh, and the terrace, with its beautiful summer colors, was lovely and inviting... In short, we were delighted! We also found the prices more than reasonable. Thank you so much!

13/07/2026: A 2.5-hour wait for a pizza order—it was busy, I can understand. However, we were surprised by the size of the pizzas. When I see the photo where the pizza fills the entire box, ours was barely half full… The size of a child's pizza… Perhaps they were short on ingredients, but in that case, they should say so and adjust the price accordingly…

16/06/2026: A nice little pizzeria, the service is fast, and the team is friendly, the pizzas are good, I take the liberty of removing one star because unfortunately this time we found the dough overcooked for our taste, it was crunchy 🫣.
