05/06/2026: Passing through this village with friends, we made a wonderful discovery. The waiter was patient with our table of eight. The food was perfect and the value for money excellent. If we have the chance, we'll gladly return! 🤩

05/07/2026: We stumbled upon this mountain refuge by chance during our weekend getaway. We were expecting a rather old-fashioned place, but we were pleasantly surprised to discover on our first evening a completely renovated refuge, tastefully decorated, with a reasonably priced menu reflecting a clearly improved standard! We thoroughly enjoyed a fondue, and a special mention goes to the kindness and hospitality of the owners.

05/07/2026: We came for dinner on the day the new owners took over. We had a Savoyard fondue. It was excellent, the view of Mont Blanc is incredible, and the staff are so welcoming and friendly! The place is also very pretty and beautifully decorated! So we came back the next day for lunch and had a ribeye steak. It was also excellent, melt-in-your-mouth tender and perfectly cooked. We'll be back as soon as we're in the area again. Thank you to all the staff and see you soon! 👋

16/05/2026: Despite the crowds this Ascension Day long weekend, we managed to find a little haven of peace. We were comfortably seated in cozy armchairs, the beer was excellent, but what was truly surprising was the professionalism of the waiters, including our own.

27/05/2026: Can't recommend this place enough. Mains, desserts and drinks - we were out within an hour and half. Reservation is essential. EDIT - Returned after 2 years and the review above still stands 🙂.

26/05/2026: I was alone, accompanied by my dog ​​(a Chihuahua) in my arms, and had chosen a table on the terrace. The manager waited until my food was served before forcing me to put my dog ​​on the floor, claiming it was a regulation! I paid and left the restaurant immediately! You may not like dogs: that's your prerogative. But you don't accept the customer...

05/07/2026: Honestly, the service was great; the girls were pleasant and very professional. However, the food… a complete joke… absolutely no interest… truly awful. And even the ingredients advertised on the pizza weren't there… I call that blatant theft… and it had no taste.

26/06/2026: Extremely disappointing!!! First, we booked an outdoor table for five. We arrived and were told, "It's not possible to seat outside." We were seated at two tables with one person at the end... When it came time to order our drinks, he took the opportunity to be a joke and implied that my friend couldn't drink alcohol. We asked for just the drinks so we could take our time, and the waiter, Kevin, told us they didn't have time... he sent our orders very quickly. Not to mention that we had to ask for water (it was a heatwave!), sauces, salt, and pepper only when he had the time to look up and notice us. When ordering our main courses, my friend was specific and asked for a carpaccio without capers, as she is allergic. However, when the dish arrived, it had capers because the waiter had written "no mushrooms." After all these disappointing points, we hoped to put this tension aside and wanted to order drinks to accompany our meal. The waiter told us he'd be back in two minutes. Yes, 20 minutes later, once we'd finished our meals, we asked for an explanation. He apologized because there was a table supposedly reserved for "English" guests. What's the connection? We asked for an explanation again, trying to find a way to resolve this misunderstanding, and the waiter replied, "I'll offer you a digestif or a coffee." Following this, we decided to speak to the manager, who had no solution to offer us other than apologies and said the owner wasn't available to help us. Tough luck for us. Not easy to hear when you've been a customer for years... Finally, we asked for the bill, and the manager made a mistake with the change. We were there to celebrate an event, and our evening was ruined.

25/06/2026: A very bad experience. I ordered a beef tartare for over €20, which was unfortunately inedible due to its extreme spice. After reporting it to the manager, he told me I was the third person to complain. However, no solution was offered, and he never came back to see me. So I left the dish practically untouched, only eating the (frozen) fries. I also pointed out the problem to the waiter, but despite this, I was charged for the entire dish. Beyond this issue, the manager's attitude also left much to be desired. He was unfriendly, both to his customers and his staff, which contributed to an unpleasant atmosphere. A disappointing experience from beginning to end. I do not recommend this establishment.

27/06/2026: Excellent in every way. From the service to the food, it's flawless. Special mention for the zucchini blossom and the leg of lamb. We return every time we're in Banon, and it certainly won't be the last time. Undoubtedly the best restaurant in the village. A must-try that will delight your taste buds; don't miss out, you'd be missing a truly wonderful experience!
