The portions are generous, beautifully presented, and above all, absolutely delicious! Special mention to the waiter, who was top-notch from start to finish, with a warm welcome and impeccable service. 👌 And kudos to the chef as well for the quality of the dishes! The galettes are delicious, both the savory and sweet ones; they're very large, and there's a wide variety to choose from. The price is good, not excessive. The service is excellent. Highly recommended.

31/08/2026: Disappointing Service: Quite slow. Friendly waiter. No toy bag available. Food: The complimentary salad was no longer available. It wasn't delivered... Meal was very good and good value for money. Atmosphere: Quiet. A few renovations would be welcome. However, I still recommend it.

12/09/2026: Extraordinary culinary discoveries, a restaurant highly recommended, very professional and super friendly staff, a setting listed as a historical monument and well worth discovering.

12/09/2026: Charming terrace featuring a small chalet from which service is provided. It is located next to La Table d'Emilie, and that is also where the food comes from. Service was slow; we waited well over forty-five minutes, and then everything arrived at once. Good flavors and attractively presented.

28/07/2026: We had a lovely time! Fresh mussels! The service was provided by Samson, who was smiling, friendly, welcoming, and funny!! We'll be back :)

27/07/2026: Positive point: The food was good and fresh. Negative point: The wait was far too long—20 minutes before we ordered our drinks, and another 20 minutes before they were served. The wait for the main courses was also very long, which spoiled our enjoyment. The waiter was friendly but seemed overwhelmed. Apparently, several staff members were absent that day. We received a gesture of goodwill, but overall, we were disappointed.

04/09/2026: We had a great time at Hippopotamus! The food was delicious, the restaurant was spotless, and the prices were very reasonable. Special thanks to Nicolas, our server, who was incredibly warm, welcoming, and always smiling throughout our meal. It was a real pleasure to be served by him!

21/09/2026: My racist nightclub friends (a Black girl and a boy) went in, and I was left outside the entrance with two white girls.

02/09/2026: Very disappointed… We were at the restaurant for a friend's birthday. I had asked for a simple candle on her dessert, but they refused because of the fire risk, which I can understand. They then offered me a small lantern with music so we could still sing. I accepted and even repeated the request, but nothing was done… What a shame, especially for a birthday. I wouldn't really recommend this place for this kind of occasion. The crème brûlée was grainy, so that needs improvement too.

10/08/2026: Probably one of the first pubs in Bordeaux, if not the very first. I knew it from the beginning; it's where I discovered traditional darts and Guinness. Three changes of ownership since Martin. After a period of neglect, darts made a strong comeback. We created the Dartistes Associés there, the first club, then a departmental committee, and finally a league. What remains of it all? I don't know. But great memories and friends.

11/06/2026: A fantastic pub where you're always guaranteed a great time! The atmosphere is always warm and friendly, whether you're having a meal with family, friends, or watching a game. The food is delicious, generous, and tasty, and the whole team is truly wonderful: welcoming, smiling, and attentive. It's the perfect place to meet up for any occasion, with darts and live sports broadcasts adding to the excellent atmosphere. A must-visit for sharing good times in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Highly recommended!

26/08/2026: In the middle of August, with closing times posted at 1:45 PM, they stopped admitting customers at 1:15 PM. This restaurant clearly doesn't want to work and is obviously bothered by tourists. Strange.
