06/12/2025: Far too expensive for what it was; the atmosphere was just like the restaurant itself—empty. €140 for two people and clearly not up to standard. There are cheaper restaurants that offer significantly better service. The food was decent, but not worth the price we paid.

23/11/2025: The Camembert with honey was very good, but the foie gras was very expensive for the portion served. High value for money.

21/07/2026: Many years have passed since it opened, the welcome is still consistently friendly, and the portions are still very generous and the food is still very good.

04/05/2026: The welcome is always so friendly, the setting traditional, the atmosphere convivial. But the couscous is simply amazing. We've been coming for several years now, and it's always just as delicious and generous. This couscous reminds me of my grandfather's; it's homemade, with fresh ingredients, the meat is cooked to perfection (the lamb falls apart with a fork), the merguez sausage is juicy and flavorful, the veal kebab is perfectly cooked, the vegetables (unlimited, but plenty) are crisp and cooked, the broth is fragrant, and the semolina is real handmade semolina (unlimited, but plenty). I'm a big couscous eater and always leave completely satisfied without even asking for seconds. They also do takeout (bring your own containers, and it's also very generous; we've done it before). The service is very friendly, welcoming, efficient, and discreet. In short, a very good address in Chalon (we go back regularly and we are never disappointed).

23/04/2026: Excellent meal!!! We enjoyed absolutely delicious couscous and tagine, and the portions were so generous we could barely finish them!!! On top of that, we had a very pleasant time chatting and joking with the owner!!! It's an experience we highly recommend, and we'll definitely be back when we're in the area again!

24/01/2026: The dining room was quiet despite the crowd (well soundproofed), the food was high quality and well presented, and the dishes always arrived at the perfect temperature! The servers were very friendly and there was no wait between courses, AND ABOVE ALL, the price was more than reasonable: €15.50 for a set menu (starter/main/dessert). A great find!

12/04/2026: My go-to spot, the food and drinks are just as good as in Paris but for a bit less. The terrace is fantastic for the neighborhood, especially pleasant in the spring. The pizzas are delicious, and the menu is unpretentious. Homemade fries and a great atmosphere—what more could you ask for? Big shout-out to Céline and Idir, always so kind and accommodating.

26/03/2026: Last Tuesday, my wife and I went to La Fontaine restaurant at 47 rue Armand Carrel, and we had a really lovely time. The welcome was warm, the service pleasant, and we ate very well. The dishes were delicious and well-prepared. I highly recommend it.

05/07/2026: Perfect! We were just passing through and stumbled upon this restaurant; I highly recommend it. The manager is very friendly and welcoming, and the meal was excellent.

12/06/2026: Here I rediscover all the flavors of the Sunday couscous I used to eat as a child in eastern Algeria, a long time ago... It's become a kind of canteen, with a clientele of regulars, an attentive owner, and on sunny days, tables in the back courtyard, in peace and quiet!

16/06/2026: Limited menu, half of which is out of stock. What is served is far from high-quality. The service isn't exactly customer-friendly either. When complaining, the waitress walks away angrily. We are not the type to complain and certainly do not set out to cast business owners in a bad light with bad reviews, but this time it is more than justified!

27/06/2026: Once settled in the shade of a particularly hot spot, we ordered a red wine that seemed perfectly suited to the 35-degree ambient temperature. The Fuze Tea was also hot, and the four small ice cubes melted instantly. The young man in his twenties must have been surprised when I asked for more ice; he took two in his hand and put them in the glass, looking puzzled. I let him have all the Fuze Tea; I don't know if he understood the situation.

30/06/2026: The food is just OK. Waiter was kind of rude and fresh. Took a very long time for the food to arrive. Prices are too high for what you get. At the end I went inside to pay. They charged me in US $ instead of Euros which required a 3% surcharge without informing me. After I got back to the hotel, I looked at the receipt to find this out. On the receipt it confirms that I was informed of the extra service charge for the currency conversion. No such information was given to me. Dishonest. Won't go back.
